Apparently Heard stands to get a payday of $20 million out of their 15 month marriage, based on the increase in their combined net worth during that time.

Obviously Depp is not short of money, and he shouldn't have been stupid enough to get married to her without a prenup, but it still makes me sick. Prenups, anyway, are routinely thrown out by judges on the slightest pretext.

Also, this article, at least, supports the idea that the domestic violence allegations were indeed a negotiating ploy:

Johnny Depp's a weird fucking guy. It's no secret he's an alcoholic and likely has been for a long time. It's fairly common knowledge he had his tattoo altered from "Winona Forever" to "Wino Forever" after he and Winona Ryder split up years back. Alcoholism and abuse often go hand-in-hand whether it's physical, mental or both. So, while I'm certainly a skeptic any time a woman comes forward with allegations against a man, (particularly in our current political climate) I'm sure living with Depp was no picnic and it's at least remotely possible he is actually to blame for her injuries. Of course, being a drunk doesn't automatically make Depp a woman beater so as I said before, I'm skeptical.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn Amber Heard's friend (seen in the photo making the rounds) helped put that bruise on her face in exchange for a small cut of money or continued access to Heard and her inner circle. Heard has clearly shown herself to be an attention whore through her previous bisexuality and her apparent need to inform the public about it. This is likely her cashing in on a very easy payday.

Agreed. It's much more likely Heard's making up the allegations to make bank than for Depp to suddenly have become a woman beater. I was just playing devil's advocate for a moment to entertain even the slight possibility of Depp being at fault. But the fact other women in Depp's life are calling BS on this should raise some serious red flags against Heard's claims.

In any case I hope she gets no money. The police came, saw no evidence of a crime or abuse, Heard did not want to file a police report, the police are are required to file a report if they see signs of abuse but they didn't file a report, end of story.

Heard clearly has some issues and at a minimum her claims are exaggerated as she claims that he "wound up his arm like a baseball pitcher" and threw the phone, but there wasn't enough of an impact for the police to see any marks on her face.

If she is making all of this up then I hope he sues her and bankrupts her.

I'm going to retract what I posted earlier. And as I've thought more about this, I'm not surprised by all this. It's largely because Amber Heard is a big fan of Ayn Rand. This is from an article in 2007:

Here are general observations of women who like Rand. They will trade up if/when the opportunity presents itself. They generally like men who are stylish and present a great appearance--think Christian Gray or anyone else who looks the part. They will change their mind about a man very quickly--he will go from "saint" to "villain" in a heartbeat and may go back just as quickly--it can be over a trivial matter. They generally don't have consciences. They will act on feelings, in spite of all the lip service they pay to "reason" and "rationality." The women tend to go for older men, too.

A man who is in good shape and presents a vibe of success will clean up with these women. He could go to one of their events and seduce as many women as he wanted. It will help if he is rich or has a good job. He would have to be totally arrogant as well.

Divorce among people who like Rand is quite common. There are also a few couples who have stayed together for a long time and have remained childless. Some women who like Rand will marry men with kids, but few have kids themselves.

I suspect this is a case of Heard asking for rough sex and Johnny going too far. Or, he got a little rough and didn't like being rough; and then she got pissed. If she's into Rand, she's probably into rough sex.

Two good things can be said of women who are into Rand. They aren't prudes about sex and like it a lot. They are generally very intelligent.

Finally, I'll end this post with a hilarious story. I know a guy who was in a relationship with prominent Randist woman in Michigan back in the 1990's.
