STUDENTS turned out in their droves to protest against the shamed fraternity who joked about going on a “raping holiday”.

More than 150 people gathered outside Edinburgh University’s main building on Tuesday evening armed with banners condemning the Delta Kappa Epsilon society.
It was revealed last week that several members of the Edinburgh colony had made comments about raping members of the feminist society as well as calling trans people “pedantic”.
University chiefs are continuing with their internal investigation of the students involved.
The protest formed part of the Edinburgh University Students Association’s 16 days of action to end rape culture on campus and across the city.

In a speech to the protesters, EUSA Vice President Eve Livingston said: “People are angry – I am angry – about the things that have happened in our city and on our campus recently, but I am far angrier that there’s nothing unusual about them, that they’re not isolated incidents.
“It’s only the beginning, because it’s scary to know that we’re not safe in our own surroundings, and it’s scary to feel like that’s out of our control. But the power we do have is in mobilising, in organising.

“It’s in standing up against sexual violence and narratives which excuse and trivialise them, not just when they hit the media but when we’re experiencing them every day in the form of unwanted groping in nightclubs, rape jokes at a society social.”

Several marchers carried banners condemning the society. One showed the fraternity’s Greek symbol followed by “are a stain on Edinburgh”.

Others simply said: “F*** DKE.”

Purple ribbons were tied to the fence surrounding Teviot Row House as a sign of solidarity and anger against recent events on and around campus.

The minutes of the fraternity’s meeting were leaked and showed student Ben Zahler, from Kent, Connecticut, say: “Let’s go to Montenegro, for a raping trip.”

The sicko later joked about a friend of his allegedly being raped by a female member of the uni’s feminist society.

Founding president Taylor Scott-Wilson, from Atlanta, Georgia, who is understood to have since left the fraternity, brought up the subject of transgender people.

The documents note that members of the group decide trans people “agreed to be pedantic when discussing the Feminist Society’s point about transgenders”.

The Edinburgh branch, which is linked to the 170-year-old society which sports former members such as former president George Bush, is currently run by student Kevin Harris.

They have the progressive PC look of "I don't want to offend anyone". Their facial expressions mixed with their attendance in such an event tells me their greatest goal/hope in life is to just fit in by offending no one ever and if they do offend anyone for any odd reason they have failed in life.
