A shit ton of these sorts of religious house of worship fires were actually self-inflicted arson cases by church members (particularly African-American churches) in the US over the past few decades. I wonder what the situation is here and given that it's a mosque.

Will be interesting to see how it works out here and who did it. Too early to tell here but when you think about it it's the perfect crime to gain some sympathy and change the debate.

One thing is for sure - the left will be preaching on and on about how this can happen and the culture of "hate" coming from the right and how they are all guilty and created this situation. When the roles are reversed and it's pointed out how much violence comes out of Islam they then say it's only a small minority and Islam is peaceful etc.

But anyway too soon to tell what happened here.

Akula, it's likely the same in this case. The EDL in England deals with this frequently, where opposing communities spray paint mosques during rallies to switch the narrative.

It doesn't matter who does it, having "Mosque burned down on Christmas Day" in the newspaper headlines is enough to do all the work.
