Unreal. Most guys here won't remember a time when a 1 terabyte card the size of your thumbnail would be the equivalent of an entire room stacked from ceiling to floor of photo albums, cassettes and videotapes.

They found this lying around the ISS:

Norton fucking Utilities for Windows 95/98, that fucking company is like cockroaches, you can nuke your hard drive and the fucking thing will still be slowing your system down. From space.

So, they make micro cards that have a 1TB capacity, but they can't make a smartphone that lasts a whole day.

Ridiculous.

How on earth are those two things connected? Those are completely different technologies. It's like complaining why we have cruisers that can carry 5000 passengers at once but we can't make cars that go 5000 km with a single tank of fuel.

Wow, even back in 1977 they had to stick that "equal opportunity employer" bullshit everywhere.

I cry thinking of the money I spent on memory when younger, a PS2 memory card that's 8mb?

That'll be 40 euro, child.

Yeah, I understand it's different, but it's still perplexing to know that phone batteries are not that advanced.

I always felt micro SD cards were too small physically.
They don't feel sturdy and handling them feels like you're gonna break them.

It's a shame Mini SD never really took off.
They're a good handling size yet still small enough to fit in most devices.

Anyway, does anyone really need that much space?
I've got a 16 GB card in my phone that isn't even half way filled.
And I'm one of those guys that downloads my music instead of streaming it.

To this day it still irritates me that sony never officialy produced a memory card greater than 8MB.

As for this new 1TB SD memory card, i wouldn't want it. When you got all that space, you just start e-hoarding too many useless files.

This is part of the reason I was super hesitant about opting for a higher capacity sd card. The only reason i went bigger is because it would have been stupid since the lower capacity card i was eyeing costed more and it had slower read/write speeds.

How about that extra memory slot for the N64 just to get the best out of some games? Perfect Dark...now in a few better MBs!

Going back in time, here is a 5 megabyte hard drive from 1956 being loaded onto a plane. That's enough storage for one photo from your smart phone.

I've had a few Android phones in the past with only 16 GB (internal memory). Even several years ago on older Android versions, that only left around 10-12 GB free after the OS if I remember correctly, then potentially several GB for apps, and then eventually having to juggle things around if you also took a lot of photos and maybe brought some downloaded movies with you for long travels.

I'm currently using 57 GB of the 128 GB internal on my Huawei P20 Pro. If I cleaned out photos more often (they back up to two cloud services anyway) and removed some apps I rarely use, I imagine I might get that down to around 30-35 GB (so says my file manager).
But for now 128 GB internal memory in a phone is definitely enough for me. But I might feel otherwise if I shot a lot of video, 4K in particular.

As far as MiniSD, I think most MicroSD cards come with a MiniSD adapter? The ones for my Sony camera do (and they need it).

Because creating battery technology is hard, and writing software is easy. So you have millions of developers writing thousands of apps and websites, and many of these apps and websites take up a lot of memory and CPU power, draining the battery.

I fucking hope it's no pun intended.

EDIT: Although for some reason Google suggested "Large Cups" as an alternate search to "large battery" and starting showing me pictures of girls with stiffworthy upper bodies and dick-wilting lower ones.
