Of course you can. Do you really think she's interacting with 900 people on a daily basis? I have some friends on FB with multiple hundreds of "friends", but if you look at who actually writes on their wall and responds to their updates, it's usually just the same 15 people.

I can't see going without a FB page at this point. The pros far outweigh the cons and it's just too great a tool for staying in touch with people you normally wouldn't call, like relatives and friends overseas. If a girl you meet wants to add you, then just set up a special privacy rule for people you don't know that well so that they can't access your vital information. FB has excellent privacy filters.

You can just create a basic facebook profile that you use just for contacting people. You don't have to put anything on it and you can hide everything. If they ask just say you don't have the time to be messing with it. Personally, I have two profiles. One for women I just want to be friends with and another just for contacts. facebook can work to your advantage also by providing social status and pre-selection. If they see you with some HB that's pre-selection that would be difficult to pull off in the real world.

With that said, I only do facebook if the girl request it. I just give her my clean profile

I understand, and I'm assuming you're talking about a girl's response, which does not matter at all. What matters is how you respond, on a subconscious level that you can't fake, to her remark about not being on FB being "weird".

She will know regardless of the witty comeback line you read on RVF if you are insecure about not having a Facebook profile. This pinging phenomenon is obviously ubiquitous in social interactions, but just as an example.

Been off fb for a year. Wouldn't have it any other way. I hate everything about it. I say I knew some co workers got canned for pictures, or someone stalked me, etc. If they get suspicious it's not worth it. Gmac had some good posts earlier in this thread

i use my facebook to just message close friends and i hate doing that.

My advice would be:
*Make one post a day
*Make the post good in quality so you get likes
*Try to have friends tag you in pictures more often and make sure the pictures are cool
*Get on Facebook for like less than an hour a day.

As for adding new girls to Facebook, forget it. Your Facebook should be as private as possible, but still fun for the people who you know dearly. Until you have the resources to make Facebook help you be cool forget it.

I can't wait until my iPhone comes so I can use Twitter and Instagram. Whats your guys take on those? Is it the same rule for Facebook or no?

It was a dead serious post man. I hate Facebook just as much as everyone else here on RVF, but I just feel that any social networking site can be manipulated to get what you want out of it.

RVF is my player's version of Facebook. I can talk to people here about cool things that are often helpful! I never tell anyone about RVF, but I still like being on here because I get to talk and make good friends.

But I'm saying, social networking sites and forums may be a waste of time, but you can find some very good friends out of it and network like fuck once you get the hang of it. I'd bring a RVF member down to my college so we could try to catch Pokemon on a big school social event. Why? because this is the player's facebook!

It may be my college enviroment or my past highschool internet nerd lifestyle, but I just feel like you can network with the right people anywhere on the internets.

I deleted mine at 20 right after I found out about 'game' four years ago- DLV unless you keep up with it. It was ok for a while, its a good way for some girls you loose touch with to easily find you and get at you. You can have girls compete for you. But at the end of the day it is cheesy because your spot can get blown up with out you even being there. Plus family and work and sex life don't mix. and the fact that 20 years from now they'll be able to retrieve anything you or SOMEONE else put on it...

I am one of those young guys who does not use Facebook (21) and it is true that some/most girls my age see this as strange or odd but usually you can turn this view around in a short conversation. I am probably one of five or so guys my age in this city who does not use Facebook and I would say this is generally a positive, you have that intriguing thing going on and girls will spend a bit more time trying to figure you out. Also it makes it clear to the girl that if she wants to see me again in the future she will need to put in a little bit of effort.

I fall into the trap once in a while. Somehow i rationalize that "this time" it doesn't matter if she sees my facebook..
But it's almost always the same. It's funny how some aspects of game are so predictable.

My point is. One has to constantly remind himself of not falling into these game killer traps.
I still fall into the trap of responding to texts right away, even though i know it will damage my appeal.
One have to snap back to reality, when these traps appear.. That means, not accepting to be facebook friends
