Any advice on how to flirt with / pick up girls working in customer service? Cocktail waitresses, baristas, checkout girls, etc.. I never used to put much effort into it (even though girls working at clubs, restaurants, coffee shops, groceries etc. tend to be cute) because I figured, hey, they're only friendly because it's their job. Then I thought better of it- maybe some of them are interested, and you'll never know until you try, as long as you're respectful and low-key about it. I also saw a good friend of mine pick up a Russian waitress at a dive bar in Boston, they dated for a few months, and I know girls who work in customer service who've gone out with customers before.
In the last couple months I've been chatting up an 18 y/o checkout girl who works at my local grocery store, and a 20 y/o barista who works at the coffee shop. I'm a regular at both places, and I've chatted with them a bunch of times when I'm there. The checkout girl at the grocery store initiated the conversation with me the first time, asking about the vegetables I was buying and how to cook them. The coffee shop girl, I initiated a convo with on her first day (when she was interviewing) by complimenting her outfit. I got the checkout girl's number a couple weeks ago (after impressing her by paying for groceries for an African lady who forgot her debit card) and we exchanged a couple texts so far, haven't asked her out yet. I just got the barista's number this morning (said something like 'hey, since you're new in town, would you like to keep in touch so I can show you around town? the campus is beautiful and I love showing people around'.)
Any more advice on how to build attraction with women who are, in a sense, 'at work' when you meet them? And yea, I'm super aware that you want to be careful not to put them on the spot, which is why I waited a long time for the right moment to ask them.
