Here, you'll see "empowering Halloween costumes for girls" :

Unsurprisingly, there are many "feminazi" comments... I mentioned the fact that nobody forces anyone to buy those costume, and the fact that a little girl can wear a boy's costume, but I immediately went under attack, mostly by a mangina...

What kind of a pervert do you have to be in order to think anything sexual about those little girls' costumes?

The skirt is well above the knee. Thats what they don't like. Personally I don't want to see little girls in mini skirts or the like.

I liked the pictures of bad costumes below the article.

There are actually two meanings of the word sexualize -

1. To make erotic.
2. To associate with a specific sex and its traditional attributes.

While most erotic qualities are sexual, not all sexual qualities are erotic. Big breasts and wide hips are erotic, but say, a woman's nurturing instinct alone is not. Cultivating sexual but non-erotic qualities in young children is healthy, and has gone on for ages. It's just a more formal way of saying you're encouraging boys to be manly and girls to be girly.

A girl dressed in a pretty but modest princess outfit is sexualized, but not eroticized. Little girls 'sexualize' themselves all the time when they haul around dolls and baby carriages.

Naturally nowadays, with the increasing contempt for traditional sex roles, many parents are objecting to putting a son or daughter into a classically masculine or feminine costume, thus sexualizing them (in the second sense). Thus the Hulk ballerina costume pictured above. On the other hand, society is getting increasingly tasteless and saturated with sex, to the point where we cannot conceive of a woman being feminine in any way except in an erotic one. So you're left with tranny, androgyne and stripper costumes for young girls, and fewer feminine, sexual but non-erotic costumes for young girls.

I would hesitate to make this point in a crowd, because most people hear 'sexual' and 'child' and freak out before they have a chance to parcel out the different meanings of 'sexual.' To avoid confusion, I propose we use the term 'whorifying,' as in 'popular Halloween costumes are whorifying young girls.' We should embrace 'sexualizing' young girls in a non-erotic way, while condemning 'whorifying' them. At least until they're 18, anyway...

I'd be okay with the girls costumes if the skirts were a) longer and b) not made out of stripper vinyl

If I had a 5 year old daughter, I'd be pretty pissed off about the "lil' sexy cop" costume. I'm sure they still sell normal witch or princess costumes for kids, right?

This right here.

I don't remember this current trend of slutty costumes being so prevalent when I was a kid. This is one more thing I would blame on the Internet; the exponential explosion of female attention-whoring.

Attenion-whoring means setting yourself apart from the background. Think about a woman competing against 50 women vs 5 million. The race to the bottom becomes exponentially faster in the latter scenario, to the point where we wind up with this:

[Image: arizona-state-asu-naked-halloween-party-girl.jpg?w=640]

I can't remember who, maybe it was Scorpion, but when we first started talking about that naked ASU chick someone rightfully pointed out that this is just the beginning. The first year you get a handful of naked Halloween girls, the second; hundreds.

Now many of you might be thinking, "Awesome! What's the problem?" That was my first reaction, but thinking about the real-world applications of this trend, what you'll wind up with isn't more highly sexualized women, what you get is more highly attention-whoring women. You'll have these naked broads walking around with everything hanging out, meanwhile shrieking, "I should be able to walk around naked without being objectified!"

I don't go out for halloween anymore, but the last time I did a few years back there were chicks in venues just wearing lingerie. Not even devil themed lingerie. These women aren't looking to be approached. It's just the natural extension of the chick in a slutty club dress that's dancing erotically but "just wants to be left alone".

What's funny about this particular article is hearing about it from a feminist. As if anyone is to blame other than themselves. Take away social restraints on women and watch the attention-whore monster rear its ugly head.

It's easy not to buy the costume in the first place, they won't make what isn't selling.

I don't want more naked halloween girls, not with the current rape hysteria. Remember the guy who got charged for eating that girl's pussy on the street? Every naked halloween girl who gets filmed in a sidewalk gangbang will cry rape, even just bumping into a naked halloween girl with an axe to grind in a crowded bar..rape. Spill your drink on a naked halloween girl..rape.
