Sexual Harassment By NBA SIMP?

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-d...39361.html

Just because Allie Clifton remained calm and professional and kept a smile following the buss, it doesn’t mean Tristan Thompson wasn’t straight up sexually harassing her. She remained calm and professional because she is a professional – that is to say, she’s doing her [EXPLETIVE DELETED] job. Don’t kiss someone without their consent, ever, and don’t kiss someone without their consent while they’re doing their job.

This isn’t cute or funny or meme-worthy. There should be no marginalizing or rationalizing of this. That could be a mortifying thing for this reporter, and Thompson couldn’t be more in the wrong. Just because you’re working with someone of the opposite sex, it doesn’t mean a sly innuendo, pat on the rear, or kiss on national television is in any way appropriate. You want to lay your uneasy flirt game on someone? Wait two hours and take it to a bar. Grow up.

The Cavaliers and the NBA shouldn’t slough this off as a preseason giggle-fest.

"who responded by disgusting us as much as humanly possible"

"she’s doing her [EXPLETIVE DELETED] job"

"Don’t kiss someone without their consent, ever"

"Wait two hours and take it to a bar. Grow up."

The craziest thing is this was written by a man. Over a wink and a peck to the side of the head of some woman he doesn't know.

What's the over/under on how many times he's been laid?

Dude's mad that he doesn't have the balls to do something like that. What Joe Namath did Suzy Kolber was much closer to sexual harassment than this. He was being goofy and flirtatious. It's not like he grabbed her by the ears and planted one right on her mouth.

I'm not going to defend Tristan on this one.

Answer the questions and get ready to ball, that's part of his job, he's working when this shit goes down, so it's his job to be professional, trying to be cocky-funny and then kissing on this woman isn't.

Every time there's an issue between a man and a woman, the man isn't automatically right because we're on some war with women shit.

As a fellow Clevelander, I am embarrassed, disgusted, mortified and appalled....

at the author for making this such a huge issue. There is nothing wrong with what Tristian Thompson did.

SMH, guess everything these days is sexual harassment to these new-age, weak-ass feminist hipster pussy boys. This author is just salty that he could never pull something like this.

A good surprise is that the majority of the comments also think the author blew it WAY out of proportion. He looks like a loser who couldn't get laid to save his life.

Looks like two fuck buddies to me. If she comes out and says she was harassed then that's one thing, but she won't cause then he'll explain that they've been fucking for years.

Just like with Sarah Palin and Glenn Rice, she never said shit about it one way or the other.

Maybe not random strangers, but if it's some girl you're on a date with, or your vibing with in one way or another, asking permission to kiss them will kill the mood quicker than anything.

Civilize the mind but make savage the body.

That doesn't mean that it amounts to "sexual harassment" or is "mortifying" or as "disgusting as humanly possible" which is what this lecturing mangina would have us believe.

The issue is not a "war with women" but an environment is which any and all acts of a man toward females are considered borderline criminal, or "creepy" and "disgusting" at the very least, even something as ridiculously innocent as planting a kiss on a cute girl's cheek. This constant scolding scrutiny of everything men do is terrible, and is threatening to turn life into a living hell. It should never be accepted, and there should always be pushback against these mangina and white-knight scolds who feel that it's their place in life to be the defenders of the sacred pussy, and who are in effect acting as self-appointed snitches and informers for today's public morality police.

This is sexual harassment by definition. But so what? Who isn't sexually harassed ever? You can't get consent for a kiss until you kiss someone. Every rejection is a sexual harassment case. It's all cool.

1. Players joke around in interviews all the time. And reporters are encouraged to get them to say or do something outside of the typical cliches.

2. It's the preseason.

3. Just because it was awkward, doesn't make it "disgusting sexual harassment". Neither do "all kisses require consent".

4. The persona being "harassed" isn't even the one complaining. She looked surprised, maybe a little embarrassed or flattered, but I don't see any trace of "disgust" or being upset in her facial expression.

Joking around and kissing the reporter are two completely different things.

I'm pretty sure most of us here have jobs, highly doubt anyone would randomly kiss a co-worker while at work.

I'm not going to assume they have a sexual relationship, even if they do, it's in his best interest and hers to keep it off-camera because it could cost her her job.

That being said just because I don't agree doesn't mean I'm calling this sexual harassment, it's just a bad look on his part.

I don't know, maybe in today's relentlessly puritanical society kissing a girl on the cheek can be considered a "bad look" or failing the dreaded "jumbotron test". But that just shows how fucked up things have become.

This reminds me of a story I heard not long ago, not sure where. President Ford was giving a campaign speech in some small town in Colorado -- not for himself, but there was some Senator or Congressman up for reelection. This was in the 1974 midterms so it was exactly 40 years ago -- could have been 40 years ago to the day, for all I know.

Well, he was speaking and somewhere to the side and below the dais there was this gaggle of cute underclass college girls from a local school who had just had a "homecoming queen" competition. They were all dressed up in their competition garb and looking, no doubt, all pretty and flushed. Ford kept looking in their direction, and at one point, he interrupted his speech, walked down from the platform, and kissed each and every one of these girls in turn. Then he walked back up and spoke some more. Then when he was done with the speech, he walked down and kissed each one of these cuties again for good measure.

Can you even grasp how unthinkable that would be today? It would never, ever be done by any politician or public figure -- let alone the President! And if it was ever done -- unthinkably -- it would be considered almost indescribably "creepy", essentially an act of public rape. It would be the death knell for the career of any politician, and fodder for endless hand-wringing and public shaming.

Yet at the time, this was considered completely normal -- because it was and is. And Jerry Ford was not any kind of womanizer or philanderer, on the contrary -- he was almost a parody of a good upstanding family man, good father, faithful husband, the works. All he did was what was natural to a normal man -- he saw some cute girls, found them fetching, and decided to kiss them. That's all. I don't think he was sticking his tongue in their mouths like a porn actor in a gangbang, though more power to him if he did. But more than likely they were coy fatherly kisses.

Think of how fucked up it is that this kind of behavior would now be considered "creepy" and borderline "criminal" as a matter of course. It is very fucked up.

One of the goals of ROK and the manosphere should be simply to get back to a world in which completely normal and natural male behavior is not considered "creepy" or "criminal" by default. It sounds like a modest enough goal, but right now it feels almost impossibly out of reach.

That was the whole basis of the thread.

The article is accusing him of sexual harassment, and you said you "weren't going to defend" him and "the man isn't always right".

When I first read the OP I thought the commentary was his. Was about to get my pitchfork.

The puritanical extremism we have gone to today were anything a man does must be put under a microscope and tested for any deviance from the approved feminist morality is really insane. I think we are headed for a new dark ages complete with inquisition.

Everyone thinks he, or particularly she, has the right to tell any man how they must behave. If the guy deviates from what is considered appropriate robot behavior it is considered some sort of horrible crime.

People get more worked up about someone saying something "inappropriate" or grabbing a girls ass than a cold blooded murder.

He didn't even actually "kiss" her. He kissed her on her head or rather the side of her head. Sure if he groped her or stuck his tongue down her throat I would see the problem with it. This is a non-story but you damn well know in today's environment it is a serious story about objectifying women and sexual harassment and creepiness and the works. Look for an official apology from Tristan Thompson, the Cavs, and the NBA in the coming days, followed by mandatory counseling for Thompson.

I think he and the reporters have fucked or that the reporters knows that he bags a lot of bitches. My guess is the latter but the former could have happened. She didn't get pissed or flustered by this so she knows what he his like outside of the court when the cameras are not around

I personally don't know why Kelly Dwyer or some people on this forum are getting all butt hurt by this. If the chick isn't mad about it then why in the hell should we be mad about it. It's just like the whole Ray Rice thing, his current wife and Ray wanted to move on but the media and public wouldn't let them. Honestly people need to stop telling others what to be offended about because it patronizing and asinine in my opinion.

How is Tristan Thompson an "NBA simp"? Just going purely off this video I'd wager he's the opposite.

^^ Naw he's from Toronto. He's likley a simp.

The reporter may have been a long standing sideline reporter, or maybe it was her first day and the players were all clowning her. She is going to be with that team close to 80 days this year and these reporters gain a level of comfort with the players.

This is basically the equivalent of goofing around with a girl at work. Maybe I ain't kissing broads on the cheeck but you still toy with each other. Tristan tried to do that jumobrto test though and flopped, but the reaction is unwarranted. Where are the cries for when Shaq used to kiss reporters on the cheeck (male or female), or a few years back when Nicole Richie said she wanted to bang Kobe Bryant on live TV?

The NBA will ignore this. If this was regular season they might fine the kid if enough backlash gotmes but they ain't going to give a fuck since its preseason.
