SEA to Colombia and few other questions about C

Anyone knows a cheap way to fly from SEA to Colombia?? It only cost me a little over 200eur to get from EU(Italy) to Bangkok, now I can only find tickets at 800-1000 for SEa->S.America

Also the eternal question: Medellin vs Bogota vs Cali Vs Barranquilla

For good internet, women, nice people and safety which one [Image: smile.gif] ? I don't care that much about weather.

Something like here in Davao, big city and not too packed like Bangkok.

Also for online, anything better then colombiancupid ? I got a lot of nice matches there but most are in Bogota, is online dating a lot worse in other cities ?

Cheers

I can recommend Medellin. I made that choice over Bogota because the weather is more ideal for me and it's much easier to get around. Also the city size as a whole is more manageable for me.

I had plans to at least checkout Cali for a weekend, but I just ended up staying in MDE. Maybe next time.

Also, give Badoo a try.

I posted this question a while back.. I would like to find the equivalent of Davao in South America and other countries as well.

I <3 Davao.... However I <3 the look and bodies of Latin women more then their Asian counterparts.

How long do you plan on staying in Colombia? I'm headed to Peru in 2 days and have my apartment booked till January 6th. After that I will travel to Costa Rica, Argentina, or Colombia. I originally planned to save Colombia for last, we will see if I stick to it.

Lots of info on Colombia on the forum, a lot of it good, some bad. Here are my opinions:

Medellin would be my first choice on the list. Best girls, great nightlife, great weather, friendly people, not hard to get around. Most of the main downsides go away with a 6 month stay. Girls are not all that easy but six months is enough time to invade social circles, figure out Colombian night game and improve your Spanish. Online game will probably keep you busy the first month while you're getting things figured out.

Cali I'd say is next, because it's totally possible to be a Cali-guy more than a Medellin guy. Read the info on the forum, but if you like the Calena body type or love Salsa, Cali may be for you.

Bogota I think women in Bogota get a bad rap-they aren't as good as Paisas but nowhere near as bad as every guy and girl in Medellin will tell you they are. That said, it's third on my list because it's big, expensive, hard to get around, and the girls still rate behind Medellin and Cali.

Barranquilla would be my last choice. It's probably good for girls, as you'll have more exotic value, but I've just heard from too many expats who lived there that absolutely hated it as a city.

Personally, if you're looking to get off the beaten track of MDE/CALI/BOG a bit then I would look into cities like Bucaramanga, Manizales, Pereira, etc. Never been to Buca but heard good things about it. Wrote a data sheet on Manizales and Pereira is bigger, not as nice, but has great girls. These places are ideal if you're a bit outdoorsy, have a bit of work to keep you busy, and don't mind nightlife being mostly centered around Friday/Saturday.

Google Flights (http://www.google.com/flights).

It includes budget airlines, unlike other flight aggregators (Expedia, Orbitz, etc).

I agree with everything Viajero wrote here, I'm more of a Cali guy than a Medellin guy, but really like both places although I'm getting sick of the bigger cities and will likely stay in a small city for a couple of weeks to check it out. I'm thinking of heading to the zona Cafetera, I've been to Manizales during the feria earlier this year and thought it was pretty nice, but I"m leaning more towards Pereira even if it is more ghetto there. Viajero, have you spent any time in the smaller towns in that area such as Salento or Santa Rosa de Cabal?

I've only been in Medellin, Bogota, and Cali and have spent the most time in Bogota. Just a few thoughts on the general mindset from my personal experiences.

1. There's little gringo value as there are so many other gringos running around seemingly looking for ass only. This is particularly evident in Medellin where there are a ton of gringos in a city with a day's worth of tourist sites. Lots of guys 'studying Spanish' and I think it would help to have some kind of job. There are lots of gringos in Bogota too.

2. Girls aren't easy, but easily accessible. The only times I could get a ONS was from tinder, and I still had to lie and tell them I was coming back next week. Usually you'll need a couple of dates to close it.

3. Spanish helps but isn't necessary. If you speak Spanish you'll be able to approach every single girl out there, although there are plenty of English speakers that aren't gringo hunters.

4. Colombia isn't really that cheap. I always get mad when I see how expensive El Corral is since it's generally average. The only place worth the money in Bogota is Harry Sasson.

If your looks are good enough to be competitive with guys in NA/Europe you shouldn't have much of an issue. That being said, there is a lot of competition in these cities - more than people on here seem to indicate. The quality is, however, completely worth the extra effort.

I like Manizales a lot more than Pereira, but I would give Pereira a very slight nod in the girls department....a lot of that is just because it's bigger and you don't have to watch your back quite as much getting a reputation for being out with multiple girls.

Salento is gorgeous, really good place for a short trip. Santa Rosa de Cabal too, but other than the hot springs I don't know how much their is to do there. There's a hotel there with private hot springs that could be a good place to take a girl. That's one of the things I like most about the coffee region, lots of these little places to jump off to. Also all your friends there will have fincas to hang out at from time to time.

In general I found Medellin safe, but I spent must of my time in Poblado. Bogota had more of a dangerous element (i.e. Candaleria at night). Stick to good neighborhoods and you shouldn't have a problem with safety. Use sound common sense in the people that you hang out with and you will be fine. The apartments that I stayed in Medellin had solid internet connections.

Girls are hotter in Medellin than Cali. You will have more of an exotic factor in Cali.

Stay in a decent neighborhood, use common sense, and take taxis at night (even if you're in a good area they're cheap and that will eliminate 99% of problems).

As far as internet goes, if you're renting a furnished apartment the typical client will be gringos and wealthy Colombians and the internet should be fine. I also don't see finding weed being a problem for you.

YOU may not care about the weather but the problem is Colombian girls do....a bit of rain and your flakes will go up dramatically and the amount of people out will be lower too. Cali and Medellin both have good weather though.

Since you're staying six months, you owe it to yourself to check out all four cities.

Internal flights are cheap and quick. Like between $40 and $90 one way.

It's not just about which city suits you best "on paper". Everything can change based on a single girl you meet or one particular social circle. And a city may make more sense at a certain time of year.

^^^thats the best advice on this thread...travel around....see what place resonates the most with you. I hv spent time in a lot of places all over Colombia and i am partial to Bogota. I like big crazy citys....i find it much easier to meet Colombianas here than Medellin And Cali....and there really arent many gringos in this city compared to its size...but everyones experiences are different. Regardless your gonna love Colombia. IMO not many places in the world compare to the variety of sexiness, fun loving attitudes, and an ingrained desire of being femine....Colombianas ooze sexiness!
