So earlier this week I went down to the Courthouse to get my Birth Certificate replaced. I had an hour to kill, so I went up to the 2nd Floor and saw that Eviction Proceedings were being carried out in one of the court rooms.

As I stepped inside it was packed, there were about 30 people seated, and 7 of us standing. I noticed the Woman to the left of me was reading something on her Kindle. I'd never seen one before in Real Life so I was surprised it wasn't an LCD screen and actually had moving words.

Some other details I observed : She was wearing a skirt, and her legs were pencil thin so my first impression she was some kind of dope fiend who was about to get evicted. Later on I realized she was a Property Owner, because underneath her Kindle she had a Folder with the Case Numbers and she was penciling them off, so she would know when it was her Time. I also noticed she had on some brand new NB shoes so she is probably an Avid Runner, which explains the legs, and wearing a skirt in October weather.

After about 15 minutes of standing there, I leaned towards her and whispered in her ear, asking if she knows if there is a docket or some kind of list. She explained to me that it goes by Case number, and she showed me her folder where she had been keeping track. (I was thinking it went in Alphabetical Order by name.) She also told me what was going on right now is the First Cause (where defendants are given move out dates), and in a half hour it would be Second Cause (where the judge grants a judgement to plaintiff) cases.

Since this was my first time there, I did not have any idea of any more conversational topics to bring up so I did not say anything else.

After another 10 minutes, the Judge calls her up, its properties owned by her and her husband (though he's not present). They have 3 cases for and none of the defendants have showed up. The defendants will be forced to vacate within 72 hours. The judge sets a Second Cause date for next month, which I'm going to try to attend.

So my question is, how would you guys approach this. The first thing I plan to ask her is what she was reading on her Kindle (romance novel?). Then I plan to steer the conversation towards RE topics.

I googled her Husbands name, and found out he's a Lab Technician for a Drainage company, dude looks quite Beta lol. They live in the same suburb that I do, although their properties are in a neighboring city. All their properties look to be Section 8/Government. So it looks like while he works his DayJob, while she manages the properties.

There's only so much talking you can do in the court room, so I plan to ask her if she's doing anything else after court, and invite her on some kind of "insta-date" under the guise of interviewing her about the RE business and some general questions I have. I've begun carrying a Legal Pad with me everywhere I go, so I plan to show her this.

Instead of hanging out in the hallway after she hears her case, I plan to do a "venue switch". There are a few Coffee Shops around the courthouse.

The last thing I wanted to mention is she's 55. I was guessing she was around 40-45. I noticed she was very energetic; rather than just standing still she was constantly shifting back and forth while reading her book. Since she was standing to the left of me, I didn't really get a good look at her face, but other than some slight eye wrinkles she doesn't seem to have hit the Wall.

I probably shouldn't have said "Insta-Date". She's over 3 Decades older than me so I'm not expecting anything to happen anyways.

I actually do have a legitimate interest in Property, so my first intention is to get as much information as possible that may help in that regard or if she can offer anything in the way of contacts.

Also, I think "Cold Approaches" are a little more interesting when you have some info to go on. I'm curious to see how this goes with the familiarity factor going, vs a random approach.

I've never done a "venue switch" before so gaining a reference experience will help me when trying this in the future on girls i'm actually interested in.

I've always heard you need to treat Women as if you are indifferent and don't really care; which is exactly how I'd act in this situation since I don't actually want to date her. So this may explain a little more why I think this is a perfect opportunity.
