Thing is most of these "OMG JAPAN HAS WEIRD CRAZY SHIT/PEOPLE/ETC" posts, are just people cherrypicking the 0.0000000000000001% of the weirdest people of a population and making blanket statements (mostly just implied statements)about the whole country. Yes it certainly IS wierder. Sure, the median citizen doesn't go home and bang a collection of realdolls, but things like that are far more common.
Pick a known japanese porn star and look up the titles in their filmography. Watch some japanese game or prank shows. Watch some TV adverts. Read up on the soapland in business culture. Watch 'dir en grey obscure'.

Yeah except for the fact that bookstores stock porno mags in the front instead of hidden at the back and that japs everywhere aren't really getting any. Japan was fvking weird as sh1t when I was there.

Things like 'Sit down tax', Tatami rugs, sleeping on the floor (that sucked), obsession with bowing, wearing slippers in the schools and pretty much the non-existence of real sex anywhere in the culture.
