Hey guys, I'm about to start my big West African Breakdown.

Plenty of city guides coming, as well as rankings and general advice.

My first article is mandatory reading for anyone heading in that direction. Check it out: Sex in Africa 101.

How does it feel to be back in Ireland?

Nice actually. I quite like Ireland in the summer! Plenty of foreign beauties around. But when the winter comes round I just want to leave! Hope Kosova is treating you well [Image: smile.gif]

PS - NN recognises the Kosova flag.

@Solo: Will do man.

Bruv, French African girls - both those born in France and those from Francophone African countries - what are your thoughts?

Not just in the club but daygame too. I'm going a French African wedding, I suppose that falls somewhere between the two.

I actually prefer Francophone West Africa over Anglophone (in general).
Where exactly in French Africa?
My favorite are Guinean and Ivorian [Image: tongue.gif]
I hear Burkina babes are seriously hot too.

Well this wedding will be in France and the bride is Cameroonian so I'm expecting a mix of French-born Cam and native Cam girls.

I haven't been there, but I've dated Cameroonians.
You're in luck. Cameroonians are like Ivorians - intelligent and sexy.
If you have a bit of French you should have no problem. Have fun!

What in your opinion has been the safest place you've been to?

I have always been more fascinated by East Africa than West Africa, actually. You've been there too, right NN?

As always, I'm interested in business opportunities but I"m not sure you were looking around for those kinds of things when you were there.

An engineer friend of mine is carving a niche for himself in Senegal and other francophone African countries.

Good timing man. I just did a post on safest places: Africa for Beginners.

I've been to East Africa, but I prefer West and South, with the exception of Uganda (awesome!). BTW - Anglophone West Africa is the place in the world to invest at the moment IMO (also Guinea with their latest currency devaluation). I'm a business head myself and opportunity is everywhere.

So all the places you listed here are the safest places in Africa?

Uganda
Kenya
Tanzania
South Africa
Namibia
Zambia

I noticed you didn't put any west African countries on there. Is this because it is generally not as safe?

Can you discuss some of the business insights you may have seen on the ground while you were in Africa?

Thank you in advance.

Depends entirely on the country, and where you are within the country. Uganda is very safe in the capital and most of the south, but the north can be a bit hairy. Kenya is mostly safe but the cities, particularly Nairobe, are not (Nairobe is probably one of the most dangerous cities in the world). Zambia, very safe, Namibia, exceedingly so.

Nigeria depends on the region but Senegal, Togo, Cameroon, Guinae-Bissau, Ghana, Sierra Leone (outside of Freetown) are generally very safe. Obviously Ivory Coast, Benin etc. not.

YMG: It depends on the country. But in general West Africa it not as safe as Eastern or Southern Africa imo. Beach front property in Freetown is a good bet. Also, the Guinea franc is gone to the wall so good opportunities exist in Conakry too. Robertsport is Liberia is also up and coming.

@afronoob: MT.O... what?

I can't remember, I think scaled the mountain but didn't reach the summit. It was a quicky; the girls had to go back to pick up some paying customers. I was just a quick fling 'for enjoying' as they say in the region.

Naughty Nomad, your rating for getting laid i.e. 5/5, is it based on you being an anglo male? I don't like calling looks but in some places, certain looks clean up like crazy.

For instance, I know Ghanian women are very OPEN towards anglo males. How does this fare for other groups?
I'm talking about your African experience.
Thanks.

I'm not Anglo, I'm Celt. Black Irish in fact. And naturally it's hard to be objective about it. I did discuss the ratings with others who traveled West Africa. I feel it will give you a fairly good indication. Obviously if you're black you exotic capital will be diminished. But I did meet a Korean in Sierra Leone who was cleaning up. In Monrovia, I met three Indian guys who were getting laid like rockstars.

I've only given Freetown and Monrovia a 5/5. To be frank, if they aren't 5/5/ then nowhere is.

You know what I mean, I was trying to be politically correct. I meant white male or anyone that would normally be perceived as a white male.

But that's good to know @Freetown.

Good write up on the shoring though.
