Best Travel Laptop with Sick WiFi

"I got confused here. Are you using T-Mobile WiFi APs to connect from your laptop? Or you're using your phone as WiFi access point, which uses the Internet via GPRS/Edge/3g?"

This is a little above my pay grade, but basically I can use WiFi on my phone in addition to the phone network.

Does that make sense?

Got it, you're using T-Mobile HotSpots (i.e. their WiFi APs) using your phone WiFi, right?
First I thought you're sharing your cell phone 3G Internet connection with WiFi, by putting your cell phone into access point mode. I do it with mine, but it will not be good for Skype, too much latency. Better to use the USB connection in this case.

In your case you should be able to access the same hotspots directly from your laptop, without using the phone.

I think I am not being too clear.

Basically, when I click on my "connections" icon, I can login to"

Mobile Network
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth

Then I log into whatever WiFi network is available. Make sense?
