New York cop beats youtube prankster

I understand that these youtube pranksters take things to extreme and sometimes I just wish that they get beat up really hard for messing with the wrong people. But don't you think this cop went over the top with comments such as ''you are going to end up like Mike Brown''? Are american police allowed to beat up the average citizen just like that? I am sure a British cop would never behave in such way.

Good point. You can legally film the police and have it face unblurred. The only reason I can see for blurring the face is the prevent someone from getting a charge for impersonating a cop.

For real? If this is fake, then I am starting to believe that most of their videos are staged because I usually see comments on their youtube channel saying that their videos are staged.

Most of their vids seem real. Cops reaction and tone seems fake as hell. Also seems wierd his first reaction is youtube prankster.

Bogus all-around. A real cop would've had every right to arrest him pending a determination that it was NOT cocaine.

At this point I'm 99% sure every video from OCKtv is fake. COPs don't start assaulting you after they realize you are recording them, and another reason his face is blurred is so you can't go back through their other videos find the same actor.

Definitely fake. Seeing as when people record police it's usually to agitate and provoke a response followed by "name and badge number". If this was real the guy filming would have had a natural response to make himself known, gone closer and shoved the camera in the guys face. If he really wanted they could have clearly ID'd the officer for all of youtube and the world to see, along with making headlines.

And then the bit about Mike Brown, sounds like there may have been some political angle to it as well.

Yes it must be fake. Why would the cop tell him that he knows him from youtube videos and then still proceed to attack him? The cop doesn't even look around to see if he is getting filmed and does not mention anything about it.

Also, what was the cop doing in that vicinity? It doesn't make sense for a cop to be standing right where he was standing.

You are right buddy.

I see this as real. And I see it as justified. I wish this kid had gotten a good beating. In fact, many people would benefit from a serious beating from an authority figure. They never learned to respect them the way they should have.

Secretly, a lot of people know they lack discipline and resent the system for not providing it. Deep down, in secret places that they dare not go or tell their friends, they know they need to be taught a physical lesson in respect.

So, there you have it.

pretty much this.

No NYC cop is going to fuck around a do the menial task of move parking cones. They have parking attendants for that. Also, NYC cops can be dicks, but they are also pretty damn smart compared to the average cop. And no way a real NYC cop flips out and loses his shit if some skateboarder punk pulls out a bag and tells him it is cocaine. He would smell fuckery right away.

Don't know whether it is real or not, but I stand behind the cop this time 100%.

If it was real, then the punk got off easy, as he could have been arrested for a variety of reasons. Getting a little bit slapped around is nothing, if he lets him go.

Maybe @Dark Triad can tell us whether that shit is real or not?

Fake as hell. Was not wearing the well-known NYPD badge, it was some security guard badge.

Here is the NYPD badge:

As an asian person who got beat up by dad and teachers growing up, I say Cop like that is a Friendly Cop.

Of course, for an american person who was never touched while growing up, it might look 'Brutal'

Say, you did some stupid thing as a high school kid like burning grass in school. Would you rather have police involved and go to court (when I was in court for speeding, I saw kids in front of judge for firework related issues. who send kids to court for that????) than just getting some beatup and go home?

He taught him like a big brother. I see nothing wrong with that.

Impossible to say if it was faked or not; truth is stranger than fiction, after all. In theory no cop with brains would smack a kid around after realizing he was on camera (since he spotted the kid as a prank video); furthermore, it would be unlikely that a cop would know about prank videos to begin with (most people aren't particularly Internet literate - that's why Tosh 2.0 exists) - at least, in theory that all holds true.

In practice weird things happen all the time. Chaos theory: weird things are more likely than a perfect, medium normal. So is this real? No idea; it could be, even though the odds are against it.

But if it is real than this officer deserves a commendation. Whacking this kid around is the other face of Officer Friendly - someone whom we haven't seen in quite some time. Officer Friendly knows how to read the situation, and won't charge every person he runs across to the full extent that the law allows. Rather than a rule-following automaton, he's a man who understands that we all make mistakes.

At the same time, he also knows when somebody's stepping out of line and that the traditional routes of enforcement won't work. Giving this punk kid a knuckle sandwich might just have saved his life; made him realize that there are consequences to his behaviour in a way that indicting him for some sort of petty offence never would.

This kid mistake man's law for God's law. Man's law says to cross at the intersection when the light goes green; God's law says that a speeding bus will kill you, no matter what man's law says. He thinks he can mess with the neighbour's dog because having vicious animals is illegal, and that his Rights and Freedoms will protect him from a bullet shot by an over-reacting officer.

This officer is showing the good-old common sense that's built into our monkey-genes, smacking the boy who calls wolf. I'll take that over sterile legalism any day.

I think you guys all missed the title of this video which says "security guard" right in it. Not a cop.

Would be extremely surprised if it's real. Audio quality is too good on the guard, he had to have been mic'ed.

Closing this thread up. Not only is the title misleading, the video is obviously fake.

Post any other prank and fake videos in the master thread set up for this purpose:
