Stunning Moscow Apartment-LONG TERM Share???

Im new to this forum and have been very grateful for some of the golden nuggets of wisdom that ive picked up about cities that Ive yet to plunder.

Ive been plotting and planing for sometime now a PERMANENT move to Moscow due to my insaaaaaaaaaaane obsession with slavic women. Ive already lived in Kiev for this particular reason ...twice.

Its my impression that Moscow must be "the Belly of the Beast" when it comes to 8-10s. Even outdoing Kiev. Kiev-Moscow Vets please correct me if wrong...

My chips are now in Place for Moscow and I am ready to pull the trigger for THE LONG HAUL.

Im curious if there are any likeminded forum members that have been cultivating the same thoughts and are actually prepared to do a long term Moscow thing ....or possibly there is a forum member CURRENTLY in Moscow that might see it advantageous to team up with me. Im under the assumption that by splitting a Stunning 2 BR Apartment in the Center would essentially cut the worst of Moscow costs in half. Anyone with solid Moscow Apt pricing knowledge please correct me if im wrong

A bit about me: Im a musician here in LA. EXTREMELY easygoing, very reliable , financially very solid, and could be a awesome friend-wing to anyone.

Any members legitimately prepared or interested in such an idea????? Please PM me.

Also if any Moscow - Kiev Vets have some comments please share your thoughts....

I met a wing here in Peru from Moscow. He talks about that place like its the best place to game girls in the world. I will be headed out there this summer to visit him and take advantage of the fallen ruble.

Stunning Moscow Apartment-LONG TERM Share???

I've lived in three different flats during my 15 months here in Moscow.

- One free and provided for by my company. Had a roommate. Decently nice flat, nice view, minimally furnished, on the last metro from the center (edge of the city).

- One luxury flat, no roommate, a few stops of the "circle line", amazing view, expensive.

- One historic flat, no roommate, closest to the center of the three, but still a few stops from circle line. Less than half the price of the luxury flat.

In my experience, living alone is a huge advantage. Girls just feel strange going back and staying with you if you've got roommates walking around in the flat. Not saying it's a game breaker, but they'll most likely have roommates and they'll really prefer that you don't so that you can be peacefully alone at your place. If you want to wake up, have a girl make breakfast for you, lay around watching movies, and have an easier time pulling overall, live alone. I'd also venture to say that whatever gains you may get from being nearer to center and having a more luxurious flat, you'll lose by having a roommate.

I'd recommend finding something historic, nice, and just a 10 minute taxi ride from the center. I also wouldn't, even if you have the cash, to get something super nice in the center. This will make lower tier girls feel uncomfortable, and the higher tier girls will wonder why you're spending so much on a flat but don't have a car or take them on holidays.

Just my $0.02.

President Carter,

Can you recommend a website to look for short-term stays?...one to two months? Any experience with airbnb?

This plays into the debate on another thread...

If you had a ton of $ to spend on a place how would you do it while making the most girls ready for sex?

The answer was a pretty nice place, but make it more artsy instead of luxurious. Have a great cool place, but don't cross the provider line. Keep her in the mindset she is there to have fun and sex, not start thinking about how she could move in.

Nice info carter.

For the first few months, I'd think it'd be great to have a flat mate to get accustomed to the place if Russia is new to you.
Maybe you can learn something from each other, and the eventually, break free when the time is right.

Just my experience when living with someone new for the first time.

I whole heartily agree with you though on having girls over and living alone.
That's like no doubt (unless they're cool and chill mates too. The kind that will actually help you with gettin' some than acting all bitch and jealous cause they ain't gettin' none.).

That's a good point. Having an English speaking roommate when you first arrive can be a really good thing. My last roommate was the second person I met after arriving here and the first person I was able to speak English with. It was also really nice to have someone to shoot the shit with and talk about absurdities of Moscow/teaching English to when I got home every night. It could also benefit you if you're strong into social circle game.

The only caveat I'll give to that is that it's a pain in the ass to find a place here and I hate moving (despite doing it often). So, if you're planning to stay long term and can find a suitable 1 br flat from the beginning, you won't have to worry about switching later on.

Best bet to find a place for those interesting in Moscow is to first get a short-term Air-BNB rental, with the ruble as it is, I'd actually recommend the center, but mileage may vary depending on your financial situation. At current rates, you can get a nice, spacious apartment in the center for $1,000/month. If you could get that within walking distance of Red October, then I'd do it.

Once you're on the ground here, then my strategy would be to meet girls on the internet and have them help you find a flat. My employer gave me an agent's contact info who spoke english (and had enormously large tits), but I also looked myself on the internet on a tip from DaveR. The url is in my original Moscow data sheet. The agent I used charged a finders fee of one month's rent -- but I just charged this fee to my employer.

Anyone who just arrived in Moscow, feel free to PM me if you want to go for drinks or need help with something.

Vamp -- Are you already in Moscow? I've never done Kiev, but a few sources I've talked to say the girls in Kiev are actually hotter on average. Moscow is about 4 times bigger though, and size matters in these things.

When I was first in Kharkov (not Russia yet, but a Russian speaking city), I lived with a roommate. He would stay in his room whenever I brought a new girl over. I wouldn't bring up at that I had a roommate until after the girl was inside the flat. I would try to bring her to my room as soon as possible. Then there, would go for the kill immediately. Only after the bang/failed bang attempt/makeout, I'd introduce to my roommate.

Hey Cicero and all , I had a hard time getting immediate responses to my initial Moscow inquiry above and I was forced to pull the trigger someplace. So I ended up taking the easier rout, basing myself in Kiev, a place that I am very familiar with and also like Moscow is experiencing it's own currency crash big-time(great news for the Dollar).

Little did I know, I was about to land one of the most RARE Apartments that Ive ever seen in Kiev ..and Ive done HUGE research in the past and present on Kiev flats. I somehow found this Huge loft-like apartment with rare monster ceilings, a deck that hovers over the living room and Glass walls. Absolutely DOPE [Image: nuts.gif] It also happens to be in what I consider the most logistically SMART and coolest neighborhood in all of Kiev, "Padil" pronounced Padol (one metro stop from Kreshatic). This area is the Old Historic part of Kiev and IMO easily the most charming part of Kiev. It's also engulfed in restaurants and cafés. Not only that but it just happens to be on THE MOST historic & stunning street in the city, the famous cobblestoned "Andrievski Spoosk". Anyone who knows Kiev knows this spot. And it is a KILLER for closing the deal on any gal after a dinner date in Padil

...And I must say contrary to previous threads by other members on this forum in the past, the city center (Kreshatic and Maidan area) is NOT the ideal spot for you. lol. as a matter fact it actually might hurt you by staying around that area for several reasons.

Id also like to let all of u know that if u are ever interested in doing a Apartment Swap or even renting this Apartment in Kiev Im very open to it in the near future (after it is fully pimped out) and would love to talk to any of you about that possibility if u feel interested. PM me if interested

As far as the comparison between Kiev and Moscow girls that Cicero asked: I've been obsessed about this specific question myself. I have not set foot in Moscow ...yet. Many forum members have BOTH been in Moscow and Kiev of like Courage Reborn and Slubu. Word on the street here in Kiev though is that Kiev and Moscow girls look pretty much the same (but Kiev leaning slightly more towards Brunette & Moscow leaning more towards Blonde). I can tell u first hand that the English ability in general is HORRIFIC here in Kiev. So many worthwhile girls in Kiev can't speak a word of English. Id say only 3 out of 10 girls can actually speak english with u. that's a lot of sexy time casualties son [Image: cry.gif] Painful to see and experience. I even speak some child level russian and still their English is so abysmal it's still difficult to get airborne. I've "heard" that the English ability in the center of Moscow seems to be much much more superior to Kiev. I'd love for others to chime in about the difference between the two cities and their girls..…

The Khreshatic-Maidan, Arena City, ect.. has at this point developed a strong Vibe for Sex Tourists. Any smart girl in Kiev that learns you're staying in this area can't help but to immediately think:
1. thinks its quite possible you are probably not staying long term in Kiev
2. there is a big chance you are in Kiev for girls = sex tourist

Also most scams, violence, shady women looking to hustle foreigners, police shakedowns will always happen in this area. In general, IMO this area just has a bad vibe for living.

The minute you STOP going to obvious places that tourists live and go and START going to where the regular people live and go is when you start to find the nectar of Kiev in all regards.

About Kiev vs. Moscow: the cities are not even remotely similar. If you feel at home in one, I wouldn't recommend planning a move to the other.

Andreevskiy Spusk is actually in Shevchenkovskiy district, which covers almost all of old Kiev including the hill with the two cathedrals, golden gates, the streets that were previously the city walls, etc.
Podol (Podil in Ukrainian) was destroyed and re-planned a few times, the last time being about 200 years ago, so in relative terms it's quite a new area.

Would recommend against sharing as it will only keep you in the expatriate bubble longer than necessary. Moscow is not the wilds of Africa... mobile and fixed internet is better than just about everywhere in the US or Western Europe, the metro is signposted in English these days, and you can order a taxi without speaking a word through Uber or Yandex Taxi. If you need to know something specific, there are plenty of RVF members who have experience in Moscow; if not, you can ask on one of the expat forums.
I've seen plenty of foreigners become bitter and leave over the years because of their failure to integrate. Russian isn't difficult to learn if you avoid english groupies and those who don't speak Russian... both categories of people will likely be useless to you in the long term.
To gain an understanding of the culture and mentality, you would be better off taking one of the universities' Russian history and culture courses. Those courses can be taken at any of the universities where Russian is taught as a foreign language.

I also agree with The Ligurian - if you have money to spend, Russia is a good place to spend it. It's the opposite of hippie California where everyone tries to pretend that they're 'from the people.' Wealth usually always impresses here in Russia.

Most true. I travel to challenge and integrate myself into the culture/community. NOT to meet other foreigns and congregate with them.
(Though I must add, that you should be open to all who you click with. They may not be not locals, but they might already have a network of friends that'd be cool to meet and hangout with (including locals)).

As for taking classes at a local university, do you happen to know what's the processes/cost?
(A few links should do. Don't need to explain everything.)

And being rich and having money is good just about anywhere.

As for finding a place, the expat group on Facebook just started a new group for acquiring accommodation.

I think you're projecting. I have to ask how many times this happened to you for you to say that.

I can safely say that staying in a very expensive apartment both in Moscow and abroad where Russians hang out has never ever, ever, been anything but a help. The only girls who might be slightly overawed would have to be some redneck from some hole on the Kolyma Highway ( although even they go to Spain in August ) but if you're renting a $30K a month place in Moscow you're probably not coming into contact with too many of those.

Yeah possibly. I will say though, my last flat wasn't in the center, but not too far from it and was "luxury" aka all brand new designer furniture, plasma, killer view, etc. In my view, it wasn't worth it. Girls did compliment it when they came over, but was it a significant factor in them coming over the first, second, third time? I really do not think so. Save the money and get something with a bit of character or "artsy" as mentioned.

I do agree with DaveR in that, if you have money to blow, this is a good place to do it. And with the current exchange rate, many guys with a little cash could say 'why not?' and pick up a super nice place while they are here.

The cost of full-time study (4 x 45 min. lessons per day) is around $120-150 per week. If you want to study at your own pace, most universities offer individual lessons at around $15-20 per hour... at any of the following universities: http://en.russia.edu.ru/russian/test/

You came across a dichotomy with Russian women. On the one hand they have a reputation for being all about the $$$ but on the other hand they are extremely nonchalant or unimpressed by wealth. Dropping extra money on an apartment with the sole intent of it dropping panties will most times be a fool's game and leads to a mindset of weak money based game that is never overtly successful. Not aiming that at you President Carter but in general.

Before I deleted my FB account I had about 40-50 FSU girls in my friend's list. Most I knew reasonably well, some I'd dated, others I'd met very briefly and quickly FB closed when all else failed. I also had a very pimped page. There were photos of me flying on private jets, Caribbean holidays, on board yachts, Ferraris etc. an unattainable lifestyle to most FSU women. I posted these purely for the purpose of closes. They would reel in the money grabbing chicks right? How many Slavic closes did I get from that? Zero. There were girls I'd added to FB that I'd met in small BLR towns, places and people with few prospects, did one girl show more interest in me after seeing my lifestyle photos? No. Did one girl ever comment and say how she'd like to fly on the private jet with me? No. Did one angle for a free trip to Liguria in the summer? No. I'm not saying as President Carter said that it in any way held me back by intimidating women but it certainly didn't really push things forwards either. Ever. With anyone.

It did cost me success though in the sense that wealth becomes a crutch. Subconsciously you stop working on your game and expect somehow the lifestyle to be enough. It's never enough. That's why the rich foreign bankers etc. in Moscow don't have 9's on their arms ( except if they are paying by the hour ) but instead have average girls with them. They thought the cash and passport would be enough. It's not. Meanwhile I have rolled with forum members who are with hot women in the FSU whilst living out of suitcases and in rundown apartments and no more money then the next guy.

So yes if you want the downtown Moscow pimp palace go for it, it will not hurt you. But get it because you want it and you can afford it not because you think it will have chicks getting wet purely because of it. You'll be disappointed like the foreigners you see who think the passport is enough or an invite to a nice restaurant guarantees the close. It's all a fallacy. Trust me.

They're not going to become masculine and start making the first moves just because they see some of your "lifestyle photos."

"did one girl show more interest in me after seeing my lifestyle photos? No. Did one girl ever comment and say how she'd like to fly on the private jet with me? No. Did one angle for a free trip to Liguria in the summer? No."

That is not how females work. Maybe in some other feminised culture where the women are used to calling the shots, but not in Russia. You didn't offer them anything, so they assumed you weren't interested. A real woman will never ask you out on a date.

If you are blatant about being rich, it can come across as showing off. Showing off can come across as needy or weak.

Ideally you'd be a bit mysterious about your wealth, then the first time you take her back to your high-end flat, she's in awe. Having a nice place helps seal the deal. IMO this is a universal truth, it applies to all countries and cultures.
