Saw the videos and not surprised that since this is from one of the biggest feminazi in the US if not the world, Oprah, she would have a typically jaded, cynical and feminist woman go and be the show presenter. It's so obvious that she and the entire show is to make the men who go look elsewhere look like fools, if not "losers". Never liked Oprah much before but after this, even less. As far as i'm concerned, 2 thumbs down from me to the show and its producer and that fat pig of Oprah while giving a resounding 4 thumbs up for the men who dare to look elsewhere, where women are still women, feminine and know how to treat men the way they should be treated.

I never understood why Oprah is so popular in the states. In France and Belgium they used to broadcast her shows about 8 years ago but that didn't last long. I never liked her show and I still don't understand why some people like it

Honestly, a guy going to Colombia, not speaking any Spanish, and falling in love after the first date that requires an interpreter to even happen does seem a little ridiculous to me. Personally I thought these little vignettes were much fairer than anything I would have expected from the Oprah network.

That being said, there’s a definite bias in popular culture in favor of a certain vision of falling in love, which involves no forethought or arrangement whatsoever beforehand. Two people just randomly find each other, and what do you know, they’re soul mates! OMG! Things like marriage agencies tend to make everyone’s loser alarms go off, but then again, the soul mate model doesn’t have such a great track record once the early lust stage begins to fade.

These things actually piqued my curiosity to see the whole episode…if someone’s got the link I would really appreciate it.

It basically boils down to this... If you're an American man AND you want to get married, who would you rather roll the dice with? A local American woman? Or one of the these Colombian women? If I was going to get married, I know where I'd take my chances...

Typically the guys who are going to these marriage agencies are normal middle class guys, who have been married 1, 2, 3 times... They've been burned by American women. I'm talking custody battles, alimony, child support, lawyers, "I want half" etc... and who know what else... On top of that, they're probably a bit older than most of us on this forum, so there is no time to waste... They have regular jobs or maybe run small businesses, and all they can afford is 2-4 weeks of vacation per year... Now with the hyper competitive environment in the USA what are the chances of a normal 40-50 year old guy to date and/or marry a 20/30 year old decent girl?.... probably close to 0%.... Yet in places like Colombia younger women dating older men is a common day occurrence.

Now take a look a the woman's side of things. Guys like Mixx have pointed out how bad Colombian woman can be... But Colombian men are worse... In Latin America the men have the upper hand and they take full advantage of this... So the typical 25+ year old Colombia woman who by Colombian standards is an old hag, and probably gets treated like one by the local Colombians is tired of being treated like crap, and the American guy is tired of being treated like crap by the local American women... A lot of times this actually makes for a pretty good relationship in which both parties appreciate each other more.. The American guy treats the Colombian girl better than she's probably ever been treated, and the Colombian girl treats the American guy better then he's ever been treated.... It might not last forever (nothing does), sometimes it backfires, sometimes it lasts a long time... If i were in any of these American's guys shoes and wanted to get married, I'd rather take my chances in Latin America...

One last thing to consider... One of the things that Latin American women value the MOST is STABILITY... Not only stability in a relationship, but economic stability. Economic stability is something that is far less common in Latin America, therefore it is far more valued. On top of that, with the men having so many options, stability in a relationship is also a luxury most Colombian women don't get to afford. What an American guy brings to the table is STABILITY... and many latin american women who have never had that, would probably appreciate it a great deal...

I'm a little surprised that the Oprah network would show American men being disenfranchised by American women, since most of their viewers are American women.

I'm sure they edit out Richard complaining about all the classless, non-feminine, and entitled women he's had to deal with before going abroad.

I agree with Ajiaco, this is ridiculous. Men falling "in love" with women they met one time with the aid of an interpreter. I want to slap these dudes upside the head. That first woman got knocked up by some guy who obviously ran off and left her a single mom, now she found some Omega(what other type of guy would fall in love in one day) from the US to play sugar daddy and provider for her kid. That second guy Richard, I'm surprised he even likes women judging by his effeminate mannerisms.

I see no problem with men going overseas to meet women, but marrying a women within a week who is obviously looking for a one-way ticket out of the country is a pathetic way to go about it. A woman willing to marry a guy she can't even verbally communicate with, and these chumps actually believe the woman is marrying them for who they are. It's nauseating to even watch.

Im on the west coast of florida now...north of clearwater..when i lived in connecticut where im from i never had these problems

In my area they call it ground zero for pain clinics and people come here from everywhere to get oxys and roxys.The latin community is mostly hard working mexicans..in tampa which is an hour drive things change alot but, most the latinas there want spanish and thats it..I drink way too much when i go out to be chasing women around tampa........So i stay local..Its acually easier to run game in the dr or colombia and easy to fly from here because its so close...

If you are talking about the outer boroughs (outside Manhattan but within NYC city limits) I would agree with this stat. The thing about PR chicks is that they generally only look good from 16 until they pop that first kid. Check out the Puerto Rican Day parade(First Sunday of June), I dare you to find a hot PR chick over 25. Dominicanas tend to hold a little better with the test of time and child birth but their faces can be rather "strong" sometimes.

Mexicans do not really have a good rep with Caribbean women in NYC. Not to say a solid player with GQ style cannot clean house, but Mexicans that you see walking Queens/NYC in general all look like the typical "norteno" with cowboy gallon hat, and a very "tired" look.

However, if you are to do well, think Luis Miguel types...those type of Mexicans would kill it in NYC.

Not trying to dis, you, just adjusting your expectations so you can cash in on better results if you decide to go.

Ok..let me shake this down..I am a single dad with custody of a three year old girl...I run a buisness and have to be there or close it while im gone...I decided that I have to have a woman living with me to help with my day to day stuff....I live on the water in florida and like to boat alot so fair skinned girls dont hold up well...Im greek french and scotch and have olive skin...I have made a decision that i have to outsouce and find a decent girl outside the us and want some tan ass floating around me...Im rolling the dice in colombia after chatting online with girls all over the world...I have better game live then online but no time because im raising a little girl...so what would you do?
