Yeah they were $67.

I canceled the order after seeing a review that said the color was actually dark black and not true to the picture.

Anyways, I ordered the Clarks Leather Bushacre 2 Boot- beeswax color. Reviews say the beeswax is more of a light brown which I would prefer.

Supposedly the shoes will look like this

Good stuff, you can't really go wrong with CDB as your first boot. If you havn't already read the reviews. These boots go about 1 size up so if you're size 10, buy a size 11.

First off, I've never worn a boot in my life, but now that I live in the North East, I don't really have a choice.

It feels pretty strange to wear these things. Maybe they look good but I don't think so. Maybe it's just my jeans don't look good with them?? I have no idea.

So, that's why I've come to you guys for help. Do these boots look funny or what! [Image: huh.gif]

ALSO, why in the hell are the laces a mile and a half long? Am I supposed to wrap them around the tops of the boots or something? I tied them into like a quadruple knot and tucked them in the boot.

I'd go with Red Wing Iron Rangers, Wolverine 1000, and Clarks Desert Boot.

Anything from Red Wing's Heritage collection is worth it. They're a bit cheaper than Aldens and AEs and the look pretty good roughed up. Clarks Desert boots look a lot better the more they're worn, especially the beeswax. Red Wing and Wolverine are also made in the USA is that appeals you to.

Do the heels give you a little extra height? I've been contemplating getting a pair of cowboy boots. I tend to wear my work boots with jeans and a t shirt when I go to the store, it gets me more attention than sneakers for some reason.

Nah, still Ohio. I mean I guess Ohio is technically in the midwest, but it seems more Northeast than anything..

Well that maps wrong, Virginia in the N. East? Kentucky in the Midwest? Arkansas in the Southwest? They're all still Southern.

Anyways on the boots. The boots I tend to wear are work boots and steel toed, tapering somewhat at the tip. Justin is the brand I wear usually. The picture is the kind I have now, dyed black, with the fringe on the top removed.

The problems I see with your boot are the changes in textures on the boot, and that strap on the side. They also do not have a very functional look to them. A little odd to my senses.

My apologies for the gargantuan picture.
