Red is a power color. I don't think red looks that good on a man at night, but wearing it during the day in the summer with a white shirt I think would draw some good attention to yourself if you project a casually confident attitude. One problem is that it draws attention from your face to your pants. I think one way to overcome that is to wear pale-red pants and wear a hat or other item like sharp sunglasses to try to bring equal attention to your head.
What do you think of red pants

Perhaps that is a good thing if you are not blessed look-wise.
Red pants in this year out the next.
This thread is interesting, but I have yet to see a link. Anyone have a link to red/burgundy pants they like?
I rarely come across red pants or chinos these days. The ones I do never seem to fit right so I haven't gotten a pair. Red pants have been on my list of items to add to my wardrobe for awhile now, but I just can't find the right pair. I wish Hudson jeans made a red pair.

^^ Agree that burgundy is a good option. It's "safer" and easier to pull off too. It's also easier to put together an outfit with burgundy - red pants can look bad/clownish if they are matched badly with the rest of the outfit.
Good link on burgundy:

I might just have to snag a pair of burgundy paints next time I re-up my wardrobe.

This is NOT how to wear red pants.

By the way, there's a blog with photos of people wearing red pants haha, most of them look pretty bad though.

Looks like red is a total disaster, quite hard to get right.

I'd bang the girl in the middle

Red is awful.
Burgundy you can pull off but please don't attempt burgundy unless you have a low bf % or on the thinner side.

Menswear does tend towards more muted shades than womens'. I don't see why the darker shades of red -- burgundy, maroon, claret should be any exception.
At least in the UK and Australia, the latter colours aren't terribly fashion-forward, nor do they smack of peacocking.
Tell these men what pansies they are for their maroon trousers:

Just don't be too self-conscious of the colour.
Stay away from straight red though.

I really like the burgundy pants suggestion; going to pick up a pair they'll be great for fall

Red pants is nice to pair with a white or black top.
