I work in Boston area frequently but will be in CT that week. My biggest tip would be to be aware of the traffic patterns, it's generally regarded as the worst rush hour in the northeast, including NYC, all taking place on built up cattle roads. Trying to get in and out of the city in any direction at peak times could result in spending half your trip sitting in traffic. The main touristy area with street performers, buildings loaded with overpriced food stalls, and usually attractive women is Fanueil Hall (pronounced to rhyme with Daniel) and is worth a look. The North End is known for excellent Italian food although I've only eaten there a couple times over the years.

The whole area around Boston Common is generally pretty hopping and some excellent food, bakeries and shops around there. Boylston St runs between the Common and Fenway and has much more to do on it than the other artery which is the mostly residential Commonwealth Ave. There's a decent guide book station at the base of the Prudential Center on Boylston where you can get info and coupons for everything from the Duck Boat tours (big deal for the tourists but they look kind of dull, I've never been) to the Ice Bar. The top of the Pru is a restaurant and a separate observatory, if you go up before 4PM cutoff (I think) you can get a killer view of the city for the price of a drink, after that I believe there's a minimum charge in the restaurant.

Chinatown is much smaller and less happening than NYC's version. East Boston is a lower class residential area with not a lot of attractions. If exploring the lower middle class southern half it's probably safest not to go too far off Dot Ave, some parts of Dorchester, Mattapan and Roxbury are pretty rough.

The higher end residential areas are to the west, between Brookline and Newton and there are some nice but pricey shopping centers out there also. Somerville is a nice town with some cool shops and has the best BBQ joint in the city that I've found, Red Bones. I know Cambridge has some nice areas but I haven't explored much there lately. The Harvard Museum of Natural History has some pretty cool exhibits if you're into that.

I'm in Boston. On the weekends, hit up Liberty Hotel. There's 2 bars in the lobby. Suit up...plenty of hotties here. Middlesex Lounge in Central Sq. (Cambridge) is not too bad...although it's a little too hipster for me. Just make sure to get in there by 10pm or you'll be waiting in line for more than an hour.

Downtown: Brahmin....long bar with a separate dance floor room. Good selection of girls. Get in before 11pm.
Storyville....no cover charge, 3 separate rooms. Get in before 11pm.
Liquor Store....yes that's the name of the club, has mechanical bull in the middle of the place.
Get in before 11pm.
Royale....big club, long lines, get in early.

What else are you looking to do here in Boston? Let me know if you got more questions.

Providence is a smaller city, but is a 2nd tier one (although there is a lack of data). There's Colosseum (a club) downtown as well as Trinity Brewery and Fish and Co. for some quality homemade brews. There are also some places on College Hill (where Brown University is), but I personally wouldn't recommend bothering with that area. Students from Providence College and Johnson and Wales should be just getting back into town at the end of the month if you can deal with that niche.

I work and live right in the city. Summer time is the best time to visit. What are you guys up to for your stay?

Boston is tough. Terrible ratios and lots of smart girls. Would be tough to pull a ONS here. Went to Liberty Hotel tonight and the ratio was about 80% guys and girls were in groups of three or more. The coolest girl I met was this tall model from NY who was there with her boyfriend.
