Charleston South Carolina Any Tips?

Hey guys, just got back in town late last night. Let me tell you a fucking miserable drive from Chicago down to Charleston, didn't help highway was completely shutdown for an hour on the way down due to an accident. Actually had people with lawnchairs setup on the highway and playing golf on the side of the road waiting.
Anyhow, loved Charleston, awesome city. I'll have to writeup a longer data sheet and post later but just wanted to talk of a few highlites.
Ate at Fuel which was featured on Diners Driveins and Dives. Hugely disappointing. Theyhave a cool patio and nice ambiance but food sucked, flavorless, not well prepared, my shrimp tacos were swimming in salsa liquid and soggy. Not cheap either $86 for dinneer for 4 with one drink a piece and not worth it.
Otherwise great food, had breakfast at Toast which is probably my favorite breakfast I've ever eaten. Bloody Maries and an eggs benedict which consisted of fried green tomatoe, crab cake and egg, yum.
All food was pretty amazing, anther place I really liked was Dog and Duck, affordable bar, great unique food fried balogne sandwhiches, bacon wrapped hotdogs with crazy toppings, a lot of great sandwhiches and burgers, tons of craft beers and very affordable.
Checked out some beaches, went to folly beach which is a little bit of a drive, a bit less croweded and a bit funky as far as being a bit hippyish, lots of bars and good drink specials $1.50 beers and stuff like that at many bars.
Also spent a lot of time at Isle Of Palms which I thought was a nicer beach. You can go by the restaurants and public beach access which is a bit livelier or drive down to 42nd street and its more houses and more private beach. Spent some time at both, public beach is very nice showers, changing huts, etc. The more private area of the beach was a cool place to bring my dogs for the day and let them run off leash. If any of you are dog owners very dog friendly city, many restauantas and bars let you bring dogs, most beaches allow dogs at least at certain hours, housing is very dog friendly as far as hotels and apartments, poop bags and trash cans everywhere.
My folks live in Daniel Island which is a bit ritzy and a bit slower paced but very nice. I'm actually thinking about buying a condo down there some places that were selling for 250k a few years ago are going for 115k to 150k. I'm going to buy a place and rent it to my parents at least for the next 2-3 years while they are living there, they save on rent I got for sure money coming in building some equity, probably double up on the mortgage with their rent money and me paying it myself as well. When they leave figure I'll have them assist in showing the place and finding new tenants, if they leave I guess I should say they seem to love it down there.
I did a ghost tour one night, that was kind of cool. Also bought a groupon and went sailing out in Charleston harbor one day which was fun, brought out a cooler or drinks and just kind of tooled around the harbor. Was kind of a lesson, relaxing and sightseeing all mixed together.
Surprisingly didn't have a lot of eye candy on the beaches but in downtown Charleston was great. The bars downt here are pretty affordable lots of specials $2 coronas, $3 bourbons, lots of $1 PBR tallboys. All in all though very cheap drinks, food is where it gets expensive.
Two other bars I can recommend is Voodoo which is a tiki bar on james island, lots of unique drinks and snacks like tator tots, roast your own bacon peanut butter marshmellow samores at your table.
The Pour House was another cool spot also on James island, an outdoor stage and an indoor stage with different bands on each every night, some good linups, cheap drinks, can bring dogs.
Lastly downtown I loved the Gin Joint. Some good appetizers and good drinks, normally like $10 a drink but $5 for happy hours a few days a week. Also got a cool thing where they have a list of like 20 words sweet, spicy, sparkly, savory, etc. You pick two words and the bartender creates a drink for you. Bartenders are dressed up nice like the old days, just a cool place.
I'll have to do a more formal writeup and post later but that's a few of the highlightes. Just to tel you how much I liked it I was already planning on quitting my job in September but now seriously looking into possibly relocating there.
