^ American girls are given a free pass to fantasize and act on those notions. They are almost never shamed to their face for idiocy. Priveleged princess power.
Lol @ 2 Brits gunned down a few years ago in FL being a danger sign 20 million people live in FL. I bet if FL and GB went to war FL would have a fighting chance practicing guerilla warfare in the Everglades.
My point is it is a large state with many people 2 people gunned downed years ago is nothing to worry about.

My best friend is British and we lived together in Indianapolis for 2 years. Absolutely nothing beats having that accent, especially in any city except NY and LA. He later moved to LA and he was suddenly 'just another guy'. lol He once told me that in Indy he would double up the accent for the ladies, as they just eat it up. And if girls were coming over that night, we 'always' had to put on Casino Royale to push the British masculine stereotypical vibe at the place. The more mysterious and different, the better. Suffice it to say, I (an American) didn't do that well living with him as he hoarded all the goods. : He also dressed pretty 'British' or on the cutting edge and very finely dressed with his own style that was quite different from American guys......it paid off big time. I don't think in those 2 years I ever saw him without a girl at our place on the weekend and most times they were new. My brother once said after visiting for a weekend that he had 3 girls that were 9 or better visit him at our place that weekend. I wish I were British in America. lol Have fun!

Exactly, those places off of the East and West Coast would be gold for a well dressed, well spoken Brit.
I think Tampa would be a good place for you to party in Florida. You will have the Florida scene ( beaches, weather, girls) and its cheaper than Miami. Tampa is just a cool laid back city. Also, Miami is pretty international so your accent and foreigner status will be greatly diminished. Have fun.

It is true that NYC women will be less interested in men from Europe than more American cities.
However, the interest that a British man will receive in large US cities is much higher than what he receives from British women in the regulated British market.

I was just in America a few weeks ago and spent two weeks in NYC. I was with my family, so didnt go out, but I thought the girls were really friendly (this is probably because of accent, style etc.). I was wearing more 'european' style clothing (tighter fitting clothes, a little bit more colour), and was rocking an undercut (which seemed surprisingly rare in NYC). Combined with my accent and mannerisms this probably made me stand out or at least seem non-American.
Here's an example of a conversation I had with a cute girl working in a shoe store whilst my cousin was looking around.
Me: *Points to purple laces* What do you think of these with my shoes? (Im wearing brogues.
Girl: They would look good etc... Are you from England?
Me: Yeah London.
Girl: Oh my god! I thought you were English, thats so cool! Is this your first time visiting the US?
Me: Nah I lived in New Jersey until I was nine.
Girl: Oh my God, I used to live in New Jersey, in Hobboken. Do you know where that is?
Anyway the conversation went on like this (with her putting in most of the effort and showing a lot of interest, and at the end I got her number. (Didnt set anything up as I was staying with my parents and am too young to drink).
Id say that as an English guy visiting the US, take care to stand out and dress stylishly. If you have an English accent but are wearing the common American baggy clothes, theres not much of an advantage. If youre wearing more stylish clothing that fit the Euro image, you conform to the idea shes looking for and girls will be a lot more responsive.

It seems like nothing is ever new in the past few decades. The Skrillex cut (not called that though) was around back in the 80's and it looked like shit then just as it does now.
The undercut was very popular in the 90's for a time too.

I imagine he means an undercut with the top slicked back. I think it's a nice style, but unfortunately it is literally everywhere here in the UK, to the point where they almost look like clones. It's also often accompanied by beards and sleeve tattoos.

^ If I was a Brit I probably wouldn't spend my paid vacation to tier 2 U.S. cities on short visit. There are much better places in the world.
As far as moving to the U.S. for work or being a Brit that is location independent and wanted to spend months sampling different U.S. cities I think it is definitely worth considering.

Terrible post. American women f*cking love British accents.
Others have posted, but the key is to go with a full-on British accent, speak loudly, often, use flowery language and use as many classic British phrases (bin/for fuck's sake/rubbish/get sorted).
Other advice for Brits is actually to move to the US -- british accents sound more intelligent, so likely it will help with your career. You can make friends with a higher social set with a british accent, marry up, get promoted more quickly, and have affairs with hotter women... In addition, wages in any skilled profession in the US are already substantially higher than in the UK.
I've had british colleagues in the US who were complete rubbish, and yet who made careers out of sounding more sophisticated than they actually were...

You won't be the first British guy to visit NYC, for god sakes don't start talking loud so people can hear you.
Fat American girls do that shit in London, it drives people crazy.
British guys would clean up in tier 2 cities like Denver, Phoenix, Seattle, etc. I've seen British/Aussie guys do quite well in Chicago as well.

Bumping this old thread. I am interested in taking my first trip stateside this year or next. I haven't read anything thus far about the deep south, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina. Something about those southern belles, the accent, the way they dress, it's all so alluring.
Anyone with knowledge, where do you think a British guy could clean up in the southern states? Or is it literally just the matter of throwing a dart at the map?

Go to Austin if you are going to the South.
