Anyone get better results/treatment lining up to the Latino guards and speaking in Spanish?

In Colombia I found entry very easy also, one time a sniffer dog checked my bag as I was coming into the country, obviously this dog should have been at departures not arrivals ?.

Latinos are welcoming, especially if you're Latino and go to random places. They'll ask you "How was X-country like?"

About the sniffer, they were most likely trying to catch people bringing undeclared money into the country. Drugs fly out, money flies in.

I was racially profiled at Miami International Airport in 2011.

All I'm going to say about this is.....quit race trolling.

Who is race trolling???? I'm just acknowledging a fact about being racially profiled and sharing an experience I had with border customs based on the thread title. How is that exactly race trolling?

@Suits: Not even sure what to say. I don't think the concept of a US citizen taxpayer expecting to be treated with respect by a government official is really that outlandish in a civilized society so I don't see what the point of arguing here is.

It's only outlandish if you don't understand how the world actually works.

Expected respect "just because" is an example of how we would like the world to work. People using the power that they hold in a certain situation to their advantage of how the world really works.

It's absolutely no surprise when someone who has to put up with entitled assholes all day acts like a bit of a dick himself, especially when there are no systems in place to discourage him from doing so.

It's a rare member of a forum like this who feels any guilt or concern for the 95% of the world that has been born into comparably less ideal circumstances or the millions living in poverty.

Determining which behaviour, language and mannerisms are rude and which are acceptable is an entirely subjective matter.

So, when you cross an international border into a sovereign nation and you don't like how you are treated, given that there is no objective reality that you can appeal to, the truth is that you are simply butthurt that you aren't in a power position to force others to treat you how you have subjectively determined that you deserve to be treated.

You haven't earned this power, so demanding it is pointless, no matter how you "feel" about it.

So unless you're going to donate all of your earthly belongings and wealth to those less fortunate than you, don't waste your time complaining that someone else has more power than you do to determine how you are treated at an international border crossing.

While you were committing your energy, time and resources to things that you felt were important, someone else was applying for a border guard position and after completing the recruitment process and receiving an employment offer, was very reasonably granted a very small amount of power.

Even if you spend your entire day treating others in a manner that you deem polite, the success of your efforts are subjective and odds are you've pissed someone off at some point, gotten any with it and felt entirely justified.

The best airport to come back into the U.S. from abroad is Honolulu. I never get hassled and they are used to seeing expatriates who travel back and forth a lot.

The worst for me is LAX, they are a bunch of power tripping nazis there. The TSA there are literally subhumans. I don't know where they recruit but some of them look like they just came out of the ghetto or some trailer park.

It should be a point of national shame that the first sight you see of America as a foreign visitor is some slovenly ogre or fat ass ghetto mammy with a badge waving their hand in your face.
