Hey guys!

So, I will go on the plane on Sunday to Philippines! For 2 months in total. One month in Makati, Manila. The second month isn't decided yet. Davao? Cebu? I'm not sure.

I few questions.

1. I forgot about the visa, so anyone here that can give me pointers on how to fix this best? Now, I'm from Swedem so I can stay there without a visa for 30 days. However, the flight ticket will say flight back in yet another month, so I really hope this won't be an issue at the airport. Obviously, I can fix the longer stay at some immigration place if they let me in, but I'm just curious how this will be handled at the airport.

2. Anyone here wanna meetup? My game is quite low at the moment (I can explain the details in person if you want), so I figured maybe someone there can give me some pointers how the culture works there. Now, I've read a lot on the forums here and talked and organized some meetups with girls on filipinocupid so I'm not totally blank. I just think it would be cool to meet new inspirational and driven people. And maybe pick someone's brain sooner rather than later. I will stay in a studio really close to greenbelt.

3. How about scams? Anyone here got some stories here that can help other people to avoid being scammed? And I'm not talking about some "beta" guy scam where he is being fooled by a girl by buying stuff for her and where she just disapears all of a sudden... Speaking of, any tips to hide expensive equipment so it's not stolen when you have girls over? I guess the best tip here is to never leave her alone in the room or not having an eye on her.

Taxi scams are everywhere, but people seem to use Uber here, so I might go with that.

From my old-guy (50s) experience there, I think the single fastest, easiest thing you can do to screen women who you deal with is to only meet girls who have jobs; OR if they are in an academically demanding course like nursing. ( One "business"major I met kept talking about her "dreams" and how one foreigner had sent her $250 a month.)

Girls who have the tenacity to wait for a job, and go to it every day through the pollution of Manila seemed much more positive, almost never asked for money ( younger players here report that they never were asked for money at all) and just didn't seem so out of it.

Chicks without jobs seemed to tend to be very negative and whiny, as well as spaced out and not responsive-- sort of like cranky children-- from hanging around all the time.

One girl , I would tell her not to ask for money, she would agree, and then two days later would start asking again. It was like she was simply very stupid and unable to learn something.
Now some people say it's because they're so poor, and if so I encourage those people to give them money. But for me the point isn't whether it's justified, I can't solve the problem of poverty in the Philippines on my own, and someone whining all the time about money just ruins my day.

Uniformly, all the girls with jobs who I asked "Can girls get jobs if they want?" said "Yes," and believed that girls who complained they couldn't get jobs were just lazy.

2) There's no such thing as poor game in Philippines. You need to be a total dork not to get laid. Cebu is where I felt what probably every hot girl feels. Everybody (I mean everybody) is staring at you as you pass by.

3) Don't be an ass. Give them 300-500 pesos "for taxi" at least.

This mostly sounds good to me-- I was always willing to compensate them for the expenses they incurred coming to see me etc.

When they are slipping into P4P is when they start asking for tuition money, $200 per month and the like. I'm not an "ass" for refusing to be sponsor or refusing to pay someone to hang out with me.

1,2) Thanks for the tips. Have you been to Davao? Isn't that less poluted? More exotic? (as in less foreigners?). Also, are you a sexy man, or famous? Or both? I mean, that might explain why they look.

3) About the taxis, have you seen "Scam City" on discovery? I don't want to be overly paranoid, but the show open your eyes to what's going on out there. I don't mind paying what's fair and those prices are totally ok. I suppose that is price within the city. Otherwise, classic taxi scams involve:

a. Increase speed of ticker when driving.
b. Exchange the money you paid with to a fake one and blame you that you gave them a fake.

Anyway, Uber seems like something I might try out.

Davao is ok, I didn't get to go to the nice part, if there is one it seemed like a dirty death trap to me. If you want to really try something different try General Santos city aka Gensan by the locals, it has an airport that you can fly into via real airlines. The mall is nice and there are nicer suburbs and plenty of beaches, even the bad part of town didn't seem that 'bad' by filipino standards. its also the tuna fishing and seafood capital so you are set there. They definitely stare at foreigners.

Also, do you guys lie about your age or are proud of it, whatever it is? I'm thinking that you might be better of, if you say an age the girls hope for.

This would be interesting to hear what iknowexactly has to say about being in the 50s.

Never had a problem with a taxi. Had to remind them to turn on the meter a few times. If you go to or from the hotel, it's pretty safe. When I stayed in Quest, hotel staff would write down my name, taxi number and where I go in their records for extra safety.

In Cebu average fare for me was approx. 150 pesos. Max I paid was 400 from the airport to the hotel and approx. 250 to get to Lapu Lapu (Ibiza beach club at Movenpeak - pretty cool place BTW)

I didn't lie about my age (but I'm 37). Not sure about 50s but I saw butt ugly grandpa westerners with 18 year old girls there regularly so I wouldn't be worried much.
