How it comes across depends entirely on the body language of both parties involved. In turn that body language is almost always going to reflect the actual power relationship between a couple. if the dude looks like he's a "pet" then 90% of the time he is a pet.

Newbies, remember this. Where a behavior comes from is more important than what the behavior actually is. That's why I get me getting flowers usually leads to making out followed by sex and you get friendzoned for bringing flowers.
