In the region where I live, everybody says that Donald Trump is an idiot. If you ask them 'why do you find Trump an idiot', than they make you a pariah.

It is not 'bon ton' to question the premise that Trump is an idiot, it is not fashionable in Europe.

Would you just avoid talking about it, nod and agree, or engage in debate those people? I find the last option the most fun, but maybe makes me an outcast.

It's generally a waste of time to talk about politics and religion with people who disagree with you. However strong or weak either of your arguments are, you're never going to convince them to believe your point of view and they're never going to convince you to believe theirs. The only possible outcome is unnecessarily strained relationships with no gain.
