There are a lot of threads on DR. If you read them you can ascertain what type of situations you can put yourself into. It's all about your ability to connect with the lizards. Search DR threads. Again, DR is dependent on your Spanish.

I say DR all day. The girls are very good looking, especially if you like mulattas. It's not quite the same quality as Miami, but close. In the DR the girls are a million times friendlier.

When I said the quality of women is just slightly bellow Miami, I meant in terms of overall looks. If the question is big asses though, the DR has Miami at least tied, possibly even beat.

I really think the DR is a no brainer. It's 100x easier. If you're in the DR you already have a slight advantage being a foreigner with money. I don't know your financial situation, but if you can afford the flight and to spend a week or two, you already make probably more than 80% of the population. In Miami, if you're not well off financially, you'll be at a disadvantage. I'm not saying you won't get laid in Miami if you're not well off, but being well off sure makes it easier. Not to mention most of the nightlife spots are expensive. I wouldn't have been able to afford going out as much as I did had I not had connections.

If you have money and really tight game, Miami could be good, but DR is just as good. If you don't have money and average to weak game, don't consider Miami. The girls in Miami will chew you up and spit you out if you have weak game.

I personally thought the quality of women was great in the DR. Not quite Miami, but not too far behind, plus the bodies are great!

What about the dominican girls in Miami..are they easy in general?

I'm not quite sure. I only met two that I knew of. One was 100% dominicana, the other was born in the US to Dominican parents. The dominicana was a sweetheart but my friend was trying to hit it. The Dominican American girl was alright, but I blew it with her because I was kind of in a funk at the time. Wasn't thinking proper.

Can't you see yourself living in DR in the long run? I have a friend in Miami and he is always in DR. He said if he could pull the same money in DR, he would just move there.

For sure. I'm thinking it's the most livable place I've been. It's cheap, good food, good women, good climate plus the beach. I would move there in a heart beat if I was able to make money. I'm working on it though. Im reading up on how to start an online business. Brazil is just too expensive to be livable for me at this point. Plus girls in DR are easier. DR is better for bangs but I think Brazil is better for LTR. I feel Dominican girls are hard to trust.

^^I'm just speculating here, but the DR being livable long term is a bit surprising to me based on past data sheets that always mentioned the draining aspects of Domican culture mixed with poverty. Saying basically everyone is constantly trying to hustle or con you in some way, you have to watch your back and belongings at all times, and friendships remain superficial if you dont share similar heritage.

I recall el mech even saying he couldnt live there long term because of these issues. Not that a lot of this doesnt somewhat apply to Brazil and many other countries but I wouldn't have expected to hear the DR so high on your list IP. I did see you cite the cost factor in Brazil and trust issues of DR so assuming one finds a way to balance it all out and negate some of the poverty issues, it seems one could live pretty well.

Which city in DR would you consider most livable long term for gringos?

Yeah, people trying to hustle is annoying, but you just learn to avoid them. It's easy. They aren't that great at it. I didn't find it to be too dangerous and I've spent a lot of time in places more impoverished. Poverty and danger aren't really important to me unless it's extreme, in which case it's not in the DR. I would end up living in Santo Domingo at first and then maybe check out other places. I'm guessing you could live comfortable off $1500-2000 a month in the DR if you know how to do it right.

Just one thing, spending a weekend in DR doesn't really make you understand the place. I have been travelling to DR for 4 years and only now I am really understanding the place. DR can be extremely dangerous. Put it this way, the chances of you being incarcerated in DR for many years is extremely small, there are many murderers out in the streets and they won't have a problem murdering you for the slightest thing.

You are probably misinterpreting the niceness of Dominicans. Being nice is not being good. You spend two years in santo domingo living and communicating with the locals and your perspective of dominicans will change.

Not sure, I have only spent few days in Santiago and I didn't like it that much, I like more the women in Santo Domingo. Santiago is also more dangerous but don't get me wrong, there are lots of hot women in Santiago and you can have a great time there but I just prefer Santo Domingo.

I feel you Pitt, you're probably right, I'm sure Santo Domingo is a bit dangerous, but anywhere can be. If I survived 6 months in Brazil, I feel I can last 6 months just about anywhere. When it comes down to it, you can die walking across the street. When your time comes, you're up. If I was concerned about danger I probably wouldn't huck myself off of 60 ft jumps on my snowboard or drive on the shoulder of the highway on a scooter in the DR going 65 mph or go to the slums in Brazil to score some weed. You've gotta live a little. Even if the DR is 5 times as dangerous as say Denver, I would take the risk, because Santo Domingo is a much more enjoyable place than than Denver. If I have to risk a little danger to be happy, I'm ok with it.

Oh yeah DR is definitely a livable place, not saying that you can't live there. Actually some parts of Brazil are way more dangerous than DR (Salvador, Bahia for example). But the constant hustling, conning, unreliable system starts getting to you after certain time but still, DR is one of my favourite places to live. That combination of attractive and easy women is unbeatable.

Yeah man, the positives seem to out weigh the negatives, but like you said, I'm limited to only being there two weeks and between two cities. The hustling gets annoying, but by the time I had gotten to the DR I was used to it. Cuba is actually quite a bit worse when it comes to hustling, though Cubs is very safe. The hustle is strong in Punta Cana though. Quite a bit more so than Santo Domingo. I mostly only got shit around El Conde and Zona Colonial when I was in Santo Domingo.

I'm pretty good at telling when people are trying to hustle. I had to keep my friends away from so many hustlers out there. They just weren't good at not falling into it. One time we got dragged to a whore house. Another time my friend was trying to negotiate a price, and I had him talked down, and then my buddy with his shitty Spanish offers him more than he agreed to.
