Science of sex appeal

I just watched this documentary on discovery channel called The Science of Sex Appeal(it's actually on netflix streaming too if you have an account) and found it so fascinating I couldn't walk away even though I had errands to do. It made me think a lot about how one-dimensional a lot of the "PUA" stuff is. So much is shit that's already encoded in our genes. The show went into great detail about the unique chemicals and scents that men and women give off and how some repel the opposite sex and some attract. These aren't even at our conscious level of awareness but they evolved back when humans had much stronger reliance on sense of smell. The mechanism still is there, but we aren't aware of it and it has a large influence on sexual attraction. One of the most fascinating experiments was when they showed a control group of women photos of men which they were rating as 4s. Then they showed the photos to the experimental group after giving them a dose of this hormonal scent that some men have and the women were rating them as 7s. It was a lot more than that. I'm willing to bet that a lot of guys who were naturals from an early age have a hormonal-chemical cocktail that has given them a biological advantage. Check it out the show if you get the chance, it was really enlightening. They are actually playing this sort of marathon of shows on Discovery channel today related to attraction, sexual selection and evolutionary psychology between the sexes. I know some of you guys are interested in that stuff.

I did a shit ton of research on this subject. It peaked my interest in synthetic pheromones. I learned a lot and saw some degree of sucess but it starting getting expensive and taking away from my game so I put it on hold. Other experiments included only showering every other day w/ soap to increase natural pheromone signature. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask.

I saw this documentary a while back and, like you, learned (or at least was reminded) of the complex picture of attraction. Favorite parts:

1. Girls shown pictures of guys on the street with their occupation and income written on them. They showed the same picture with a low- and high-status job (and income) and got predictably HIGHER scores when the SAME guy had a better job and made more money. The average rating went up significantly too (like from a 6 to an 8).

2. The ghetto Latinas at the low-rider show/contest talking about how they don't care about how the guy looks, just as long as "he's [proven] he's the top dog."

Proof that game works but, as you say, it's more complicated than routines, silly magic tricks, and feather boas.

I was watching that same documentary yesterday, well today a little past midnight. It showed some interesting points, like for example the way women walk, if they tend to move their hips more left to right it generates more attraction.

I didn't manage to watch it completely but I'll try to do it sometime.

Oh and one more thing they mentioned that can have practical value. In another experiment they showed, when a woman has just finished doing exciting that gives an adrenaline rush like bungee jumping, and then she is shown photos of men to rate, she rates them about 2 points higher than she normally would. Adrenaline is kind of like beer goggles for women and they will feel more attraction toward a man they are sharing an activity with than they would in just calm conversation. It has something to do with having it stimulate the same part of her brain that triggers sexual arousal. I don't think it works the other way around with men. An ugg isn't going to become cute because we skydived with her.

So if you have a motorcycle, rather than having her meet you somewhere for that first date, offer to pick her up on your motorcycle. Or perhaps make your first date an action date like teaching her to surf(for those of you surfers in here) rather than the quiet cocktail lounge. This may not be earth shattering news, but it's interesting to have science back it up with evidence.

I have a friend who refuses to use deodorant or cologne and showers very rarely. His theory is he shouldn't mask his natural scent to attract girls.

And what is funny is that he has a new girl every other weekend. Maybe it works. Maybe it is all in his head.

Anyone else experience this? Dude...I just can't see myself going out at night smelling musty. Even if it did work. I could see it working with some backpacker hippy girl.

When running these experiments I was showering x2 daily, after the gym in the mornings and before going out at night. To try to keep a natural phero scent going I started using soap after the gym and only water in the evening. All results were inconclusive.

Now, what you, other males, and females smell are totally different beasts. Synthetic phero's would smell "musty" to me, like shit to other guys, but girls said I smelled good. With a proper mix chicks would lean in, inhale, and say that I smelled gooooooooooooood. LOL.

My experiments had negative effects, like overdosing on androstenone. My body produces higher levels of testosterone and wearing "none" was overkill. A few girls sorta freaked out. It's fine for beta males or older men who's bodies produce less. Other synthetics like and androsterone and androsternol give off a more social vibe.

My favorite was couplins. It's a female pheromone (in short) that's supposed to give the vibe that you are getting laid and other women will want you for it. Yeah it worked, but only attracted skanky drunk cougars. [Image: confused.gif]

In the end it became a very expensive and time consuming experiment. There's a lot of snake oil being sold, but several companies are actually sending out quality products. I've shelved the idea for a while but will pick up again later this year.

What companies or particular product would you recommend if someone did decide to experiment with this? Links?

Here's two good resources to start. Love-scent has a good forum and sells quality products. Androtics Direct also has good mones and both companies have a 100% money back guarantee. Get familiar w/ the science first before buying products. As an Alpha male sort I found ~none heavy products to be too much. Products like Scent of Eros showed improvements in people's general reactions. Girls would open faster, which is all I need for the kill.

Wearing pheromones increased my game. It made me more aware of women's reactions, body language, and made me feel more confident. That's partially a placebo effect perhaps. Mones do work though or I wouldn't be posting some Tim Ferris B.S. LOL.

When you do some research Speakeasy I'll give you some recommendations on products. I think most guys on the phero forums are young beta sorts desperate to get laid. What apparently worked for them didn't work for me. I get laid regardless. It's generally agreed that the most you'll get from phero use is 10%. That could be the difference between a close or no so I think it's worth it.
