Russia is far more efficient at building infrastructure necessary than Canada unfortunately. We can't get shit built with all the opposition to pipelines, especially in BC.

There's too much groups that can stifle good projects here.

Maybe if we put all the hippies and natives in Nunavut gulags we could get some shit done, I"m sure most Albertans would support that!

The sad truth is that its universities that are pushing the anti resource agenda. Unless you are in a resource based faculty. Even then....

Im not sure where this whole "slap your father in the face" attitude has come from. Most of the most outspoken critics of resource economies come from people who were raised by the fruits of forestry, oil, mining, fishing, etc.

BC will boom, you have my word. Things are about to get a lot more interesting in this world, eco-feminists be damned.

The main things keeping BC afloat is resources and direct foreign investment by wealthy asian property buyers.

If resources were continuously stifled eventually the emperor's true clothes will be revealed. At least Alberta doesn't pretend it's something it's not.

Don't forget the grow ops and cross border ganja trade, although I don't know how well that's been doing since Washington state legalized it, I heard pounds are going for half what they were going for a couple of years ago, good times for frugal stoners in Canada!

This is a really interesting comment... When push comes to shove in terms of political and economic discourse and a final decision is needed on the development of infrastructure to get oil/gas from Canada to Asia, what will the wealthy and influential Chinese community in BC opt to do? Stand with the typical BC pipeline protester, or Chairman Mao? Me thinks the latter...

I can't wait for all these stupid tree huggers to get curb stomped by the BC and Federal government. Fucking anti prosperity wankers. There are NO jobs for young people in Vancouver that are worth taking outside of the trades and resource sector.
