Obsession with Cats

Cats are fucking cool. If an entire generation of aging spinsters replaces men with cats, don't hate on the cats.

I love all kinds of pets, each one has their unique qualities.

Some of my favorite nights are laying on my rug with my cat passed out on my chest while listening to Bach.

Not sure where this "Cats aren't loyal" nonsense comes from. I think the problem is with female cats and how they're raised. In my experience, males are way more loyal and responsive to commands. I've got two males, and one of them responds to me verbally and follows me around like a dog. I can take him for walks, which always trips out other pedestrians. Granted he's unusual for a cat but it probably has something to do with the way I raised him. I'm a firm believer that cats and other domesticated animals take on the attributes of their owners.

If the cat is fickle, unloyal, non-affectionate, well, look at the bitch that's raising it.

Exactly. My cat would come whenever I snapped my fingers. Granted I used some treats in the initial training, but once it's done right treats are no longer required.

And discipline is key too. I remember my friends cat would jump up on his kitchen counters and I was like, "Dude, what's with that!!??" and he was like, "Oh, I can't keep Yoda from doing that", to which I responded, "Yes you can, never too late to start the training. His ass needs a lesson in the darkside of the force" and I grabbed the sink hose and sprayed him.

My friend was like "WTF!" and started coddling Yoda. I told him Yoda has much to learn and water can be a great tool. Get yourself a pistol if you have too and give him a squirt when needed.

Two weeks later I'm talking with him on the phone and he thanks me and says the technique is working great, but....he's afraid that he enjoys it too much. [Image: smile.gif]

This video is goddamn amazing. That kid could have died if it weren't for the cat.

Not only that, but the cat went back to check on the kid. Props to the kid for just getting up and running it off too.

Do you know how many lays he'll get from that story/video? Get him on the f.

At soup cats ave more intelligence than you give them credit for. Scientists have said(not all, as many think pigs and mice are smarter than we are lol)) that after primates CATS are the most intelligent animals. That includes big (lions, etc) and domestic cats.
Problem is cats are solitary hunters and act accordingly while dogs are pact animals so they are more social and seem to reflect our personality more.
Women like cats because Cat mothers reflect women's child raising instincts. Mother cats are pretty good mothers and since cats have big heads and front facing eyes they remind them of human babies.
I actually was a partner in a animal rescue group..so I know (ASPCA trained) a lot about cats.

Actually leaders often have cats. Male cats are similar to guys with "game". All they want to do is FUCK! It comes even before food and they want to fuck as many catwomen as possible.
Female cats make those "baby momma's" we always hear about look innocent. Did you know that when a female cat is pregnant the litter can be a mix of kittens from different fathers?I can't even explain that biologically.
But one of the reasons scientists say this might happen is so the fathers don't kill the kittens like male Lions kill other male lions cubs.
Since they aren't sure if they are the father they don't kill them and just go pursue other territory.
They sound like total players. Fuck, fuck and fuck. They don't care who else she is fucking and then they walk away and look for more ass.

Depends. If the cat hasn't been handled at a young age (within 8 weeks) they tend not to bond with humans well.

cats are good pets, you need to game them. the stereotypical spoilt cat who gives no fucks except for when you have food comes from its owners treating it like royalty. you want a clean animal that makes no mess, is affectionate but doesn't bother you too much (like a dog), a cat is good

plus this cat is clearly heroic i don't see how one could think otherwise

I gotta admit that I have a problem with my cat doing that. I've tried everything - spraying her with water, spraying her with citrus spray, shouting at her, locking her away, withholding food, even beating her, and she's just relentless about it despite being punished a hundred times. A mere "no" is enough to make her come down from the counter or make her reconsider a leap if she's preparing for that, but if I'm not there you can bet that she's jumping on that sooner or later. She knows that doing it is bad and is always scared after being there because she knows some kind of punishment is coming, but she still does it. No foresight.

Animals have poor impulse control. That's what makes them animals in the first place.

This cat's intention was to protect a person it's bonded with. Nothing more, nothing less. They're capable of bonding the same way dogs are, but they're generally less needy.

Awesome cat for stepping in and saving the kid from a bigger animal.

I have cats, I love them, but they are just animals. They respond to discipline, but differently than dogs.

Between men, we should be like dogs where virtues like loyalty, pack instinct, and respect for those that are better are valuable qualities.

Between women, we should be like cats, where aloofness, grace, casual indifference, and doing what we want gets rewarded.

What animal is more compatible with an international playboy lifestyle? I know the answer to that question

We should also be careful not to anthropomorphise cats/dogs with human emotions. We have no way of knowing what their internal mental states are. It is more likely that the cat viewed the dogs encroachment as attacking her property rather than any feeling that it had to protect the boy.

Dog needs to be put down.

Actually the cats name is Tara...so in addition to the bond, there is a good chance the cat thinks of the baby like one of her kittens. Female cats do protect kittens. If cat was family pet when baby arrived that bond could have taken place.
This wasn't an issue of territory because cats generally only protect territory against other cats. Also if the family pet gets constant food and is neutered territory isn't as important.

I have a female sphynx cat and she honestly acts like a dog. She meets me at the door when I get home from work and she always has to be in the same room I am in. I don't understand when people say cats are feminine and dogs are masculine. Cats are much less needy. They self maintain. I can leave town for a few days and just leave extra food and water. Dogs constantly need to be taken outside, taken for walks, bathed, etc. Cats are also better hunters. When was the last time you heard of a dog bringing a dead bird to their owner?
