Fractal Game / Dormant Potential

Anyone else see this recently.. ?

This guy got hit in the head is now a math savant who can see fractals and patterns in almost everything. He to just be a meathead boozer, but is now working with people at MIT on some kind of new power source:

There are other types of people with this acquired savant syndrome who have different skills like instant musical intelligence etc.

It sounds like something out of The Matrix, but apparently it's real.

Got me thinking that if there was a way to figure out how to stimulate and control this condition, you could go from being a complete dweeb to master ladies' man in a matter of minutes. Or, like in The Matrix, a Karate master, or whatever.

With all the effort that's going into making computers more powerful, maybe we already have the greatest computer in our heads.

I saw this other video and it got me thinking about congruency/veracity in body language and facial expressions. There might be a fractal quality to it.

For example, the expression on a face could be an echo of a fractal expression that starts in the body or visa versa.

I think girls tend to have this very emotional intelligence, which is why body language is so important. They can instantly get a sense of whether or not you are an attractive mate from how you move. Animals are sensitive to this as well. I think it takes most guys a lot more work to get acquainted with it.

This could be an important thing, because maybe there's a simple fractal equation from which all game is manifested. Maybe this is what naturals have. We, on the outside, try to map out all the points where this manifests, but maybe there's another way to get generate game from one simple thing instead of doing all these seemingly separate things (like getting in shape, dressing well, learning things to say, adjusting your walk by focusing on a particular area of your movement).

Perhaps there's a thing to focus on that will make all this shit that we talk about click and fall into place in a natural way.. like an E= mc2 of game.

I'm a big fan of this idea and tends to shut up those HBD/WN people.

I think of the human brain like a car engine. The majority of cars built today have governors to limit their performance (average people who treat their bodies like crap and consume garbage) and there are other cars that built from the ground up to be high performance for example Ferrari's (the people who belong to Mensa).
Also like with the different capabilities of certain high performance cars (top speed, handling, acceleration and stability), you can have people who are good with numbers, have photographic memory and are savants at complex problem solving. They said Albert Einstein had trouble tying his own shoes. If you only have so much brain power to go around certain things would suffer.
It also would make sense as to why some autistic people are incredibly good with math equations, but suffer greatly in social interactions unable to read body language que's.

I personally think everyone can hit a higher potential with the proper mental training.

What's HBD/WN?

We already have it, it's called mindfulness.

Okay so where is his great genius? He appears to have a form of synesthesia...where numbers have a visual representation in his brain. Others experience this in the form of colors/textures, where each number has a color and texture associated with it.

Aside from drawing a bunch of geometric pictures, what has he actually done with his newfound talent? This kind of stuff easily impresses lay people and those who think "math is hard."

As for this "fractal power source," this was a concept developed by a sort of Renaissance-man named Todd Siler. It's certainly an interesting concept...but right now exists only as a computational model (these are always gross simplifications of reality). Unclear to me how this man would aid the effort, since the concept is already there and it is primarily an engineering & material science problem right now.

You often hear about child prodigies or people with some extraordinary talent on some TV show, but then you never hear about them again. I don't think they're really geniuses in the Einstein/Mozart mold.

However, the overall idea about dormant potential is very interesting. In principle, these connections could be made in anyone and everyone...whether this is desirable on a species-level is an open question.

I think it's genius to be able to look at the shape of hand and distill into a simple geometric equation, if that is indeed what is happening in the picture below. I don't think computers can even do that yet:

To me, this is kind of what DNA does. It is a simple plan for something far more complex. It shows that complexity can come out of simple things and does not need to be made by an even more complex thing.

I can definitely relate to this. I've gotten smarter and ironically better at math when I started working out, eating right, and consuming high quality vitamins (ZMA, vitamin D, melatonin, fish oil).

I feel a lot sharper than normal.

Cool drawings. I love fractals and find them to be very fascinating.
