Do you ever run across pua's? Not true naturals, but someone who learned from one big camps out there?
PUA Encounters?
"Do you ever run across pua's? Not true naturals, but someone who learned from one big camps out there?"
No, but I know someone who encountered the "lovesystems" guys doing a bootcamp here where I live (Austin).
I always wonder how someone could drop $3000 on a bootcamp. I can't see spending that kind of dough to learn game. Rather buy a motorcycle.
Plus, most of what you learn about game is through "the school of hard knocks." Better to buy Roosh's book (Bang) and just approach like crazy and see what happens.
Also, I don't think a lot of guys want to admit they took an expensive bootcamp, so it is tough to get the truth out of a guy who is a "pua" due to a bootcamp.

Yep I have and most of them are pretty weird
i know a guy who took style's bootcamp/seminar back in the day which was exclusive to only a couple of hundred people or so and cost about $5k; he still sucked with girls afterwards so wasn't money well spent

I wonder what the track record is on these super expensive bootcamps? I bet it is not very good.
The only success stories I have heard from them are the guys, who a year or two after a bootcamp, start up their own workshops. But these are few and far in between.
I wonder if anyone on here has taken an expensive bootcamp? I would love to hear a critique of whether it was effective.

Bootcamps all have the same flaw which makes them pretty useless.
They are taught top down. In other words outer game downwards.
PUA instructors telling dudes without solid inner game to approach and then fielding questions from them asking 'what should I say?', well what should I have said, done etc.

I agree. Guys that are desperate enough to drop $5K on a boot camp doubtfully have any inner game. I saw a guy (40's) roll in a bar one evening using either the style or mystery method swoop a cougar. It was textbook and he did so well she sat and talked for 10 minutes to me about him. I was impressed and shocked at the same time. Couldn't say if he boot camped or not.
This weekend in Charleston a dude walked in spitting someone's game, including card tricks, canned openers, ect. Had I actively been working on the bartender I would've went AMOG on his ass. He had the attention of 4 bar girls but his "routine" was lacking in every aspect. It sounded rehearsed. I listened to the girls reviews after his departure. 4/4 were aggravated to have listened and 1/4 wanted to know how the trick was done. Funny part he had 2 wingmen. They were dressed almost exactly alike. They were learning to peacock and showed dismal results. I hope they weren't paying that dude for a boot camp.
I thought w/ all the pua buzz I would have crossed more but that's only 2 since mid '09, when I came across the community.
Some bars I've frequented have had serious PUA types. They look so funny to me, so fake. I've never seen any of them have real lasting success.
I've gone to the lovesytems forum and MET a guy who took a boot camp with braddock. I went out with him a few times and he definitely had inner game issues, he could not approach. But if you pulled him into a set, he did very well.
He later confessed to me "I can't believe I spent $3000 on a bootcamp!" after one demoralizing evening.
All in all, bootcamps seem to be fucking worthless. I wouldn't pay more than 200 bucks for a bootcamp on something you can learn by yourself. It's like paying someone to teach you how to play a video game
There's also other times where guys in bars have come up to me and asked "Do you know pickup?" or "Are you part of the lair?" even though I do not peacock, nor do I run routines (except for some openers), and rarely roll with anyone except for trusted friends. These guys have always come across as true betas struggling in the bar world, some to the point where they do not even look like they belong there
Most memorable PUA encounter:
I approached a short chick with her fat, tall cock-blocking friend. After struggling to start a convo with her, she crosses her arms and her bitch shield reaches maximum dismissiveness. I look at her, wondering if I should even have the manners to tell her I'm done talking to her, when suddenly this really tall guy with a military buzz cut, cheap blazer, thick rimmed glasses and jeans comes up and slides her arm around her shoulder and says "Heeyyy what's going on over here?"
The girl then looks at me, giving me a look of "Who is this dude? Get him away from me!"
Instead, I placed my hand on her shoulder, and said "You attract the most interesting guys." Being too stupid to comprehend my remark, she gave me a confused look. I then back turned and slide a few inches down the bar.
I proceeded to watch this guy run 10x different routines on this arm-crossed chick who was bored out of her mind in between a few more approaches I did while he wasted his time. It amazed me at how long he could keep going, like the energizer bunny.
I guess most guys have to go through the "canned routine bullshit stage" before they learn what real game is.

Be sure to check out the easiest mining program around, FreedomXMR.
For years, I worried that the spread of "game" would cause a lot of problems for me and other true players. So far, it seems like it's a wash. One the one hand, there ARE a lot of new faces working the scene with more-than-basic game (even if it is rehearsed or straight copied). On the other, it falls flat consistently enough that real, original game still lands beautifully.
I've never seen a full-out peacocked PUA ass-clown out and about, but I have heard the dead-giveaway acronyms and terminology whispered in bars and night spots. They seem to invariably come from recently reformed nerds and try-hard wannabes.

Yeah, I used to be an aspiring PUA until I realized that most of them are full of shit. Game is for people who have no personality whatsoever and have to manufacture a persona in order to attract girls (i.e. be a magician, give an illusion, Mystery anyone). After I signed up for a dating program and realized that on average guys were only getting three lays in a year I knew I had found the wrong program. It wasn't until I met the only man who was fucking a different girl a day who was willing to teach me how to be a player and ironically, the first thing he taught me was learning how to love myself, have self confidence and not worry about any PUA bullshit. What a fucking concept!
