RoK Comments section

Hahaha! Honestly, I haven't read anything on RoK in a while. I dropped off of there and pretty much all similar sites because of what I felt was an undercurrent of negativity permeating everything; a feeling of frustration and dissatisfaction with the way things are. It just didn't vibe for me. Negative energy is something that I try to eliminate from my sphere of influence. I felt like a lot of the commenters on there are stuck in this type of mental paralysis where negativity soaks up way too many of their processor cycles.

Here's a little story/allegory that I think explains what I mean pretty well:

So one night I did some mushrooms in Amsterdam, and ended up tripping fucking balls. It was raining, I was way too faded to be out in public, and didn't feel like socializing with anybody in my shit hole of a hostel, so I ended up curled up in my bunk riding out the rest of my trip. So right as I start to relax a little bit, some asshole's cell phone alarm goes off making the most annoying, loudest god damned racket you've ever heard. Whoever made it engineered it to be the most annoying fucking thing on the planet. It would ring for like 2 minutes than stop for 10 or 20 seconds - just long enough to give you hope it had stopped - and then start ringing again. Now, the phone is in a foot locker so there's no way I can get to it to shut it off, and the fucker is nowhere to be found.

So there I was sitting there thinking how much the situation sucked, how much Amsterdam sucked, how much of shit hole the hostel was, how much the crowd at the hostel sucked, how I should pack up and leave the next day. I wasn't having a full blown bad trip, but my mental state was deteriorating fast. Then I had an epiphany. I realized that all of these negative thoughts were keeping me from a very simple solution. I put in my headphones, cranked the volume up on my smartphone, put on some dope music, and tripped the fuck out.

The moral of the story is that there's always going to be a cell phone alarm - some shit in the world you can't control that will annoy you, piss you off, or otherwise bring negative energy into your life. But there is almost always something you can do within your sphere of influence to block that negative energy out and make your world/slice of reality closer to what you'd like it to be. Focusing on the negative energy and how the world is imposing it one you just serves to create an illusion of powerlessness, and in some respects a complacency that things must be shitty for you. You focus on how loud the noise is when all you need to do is pop in your headphones.

I still come to the forum, as opposed RoK and other various blogs, because I feel that the people here much more solution oriented. I feel like the overarching theme on here is how to go out and make/find your own little personal paradise, as opposed to sitting around and complaining about everything that's wrong with your life.

TL;DR - RoK = complaining, RVF = action

That's the mentality of those that oppose our philosophy think. That's what makes them dangerous, not the fact that they have pussies. It's the negativity of unaccountability, aimless rage and slothful ways that make those women so poisonous.

From politics to advertisement, it's in all the energies that run our lives best interests to keep us unhappy. I refuse to judge most men for their anger since we are being continuously removed of more and more tools to gain, or feel, real satisfaction.

If the matrix is too much for you guys, don't just be self actualized, disconnect completely. Go low technology inside your own city for a few weeks. Be blissfully ignorant of the latest disaster or scandal. If you want or have to remain inside the hubris of today's world then revel in the discord. Don't be a victim of it. All this talk about 'frame' and some still allow themselves to be swept up into the (game)board setup by others. Laugh at disaster and ills if you lack the power to annihilate them. Anything between overcoming and where you started that distracts is sabotage.

Amazing epiphany SuperBeast. Philosophers stones I take it?

The effects of negatively can be insidious as well. Just like with shitty friends, you hang out with them enough and before you know it, you've absorbed their behaviours and mindset.

You read enough articles complaining about women, before long you'll start to believe them.

I don't really hang around feminists, so I rarely take notice of those articles within RoK. But regardless, before I read anything, I find a good idea is to ask yourself 'How will knowing about this topic benefit me?'.

One of the main reasons I don't watch tv is because 99.99% of it doesn't benefit me in any way.

Keep in mind Most people don't care about solutions and wouldn't take the necessary action to better themselves, which is why they will remain like 'most people' and continue to complain.

If you're not growing, you're dying.

The problem with RoK is that it has become a lot less self-improvement and much more complaining about women, the decline of society...etc. That type of stuff will always attract a lot of rude comments and negativity. RoK should swing back more towards the self-improvement side and offer those types of articles. I used to read it when there were a bunch of these types of articles, however since most of the articles now are just complaining, I don't bother reading them.

There's only so much self-improvement to talk about really. All the game info you'll ever need is already out there, same with lifting and money. RoK needs the cultural criticism posts to pump out enough content and get enough page views. The downside is it brings a lower quality demographic into the forum, we'll just have to be vigilant about calling out their unhealthy mindsets, game denialism and assorted bs when we see it.

I've spent enough time complaining about RoK both on the forum and in private to forum friends, it's time to offer some practical solutions.
It'd be cool to see more stuff on men's style. The later especially is very important but not talked about in this corner of the internet nearly enough as it should be. Posts on diet would also be great.

For me, the problem isn't so much right or left wing as much as humorless losers with no self-awareness or levity, telling stories about shit that didn't happen about how they are so dark triad.

Unfortunately some of the articles have also tended in the direction of unintentional self-parody - guys who learned game a month ago writing about "How I Donkey Punched My Bottom Bitch HB10 into Submission That One Time."

Other articles are badly written and could use serious copy-editing. My unsolicited advice [Image: rant.gif] would be to up the editorial standards by sending back articles for further editing, and flat out rejecting more articles.

I find RoK interesting and useful since it introduced me to redpill theory and helped change my way of thinking (i was very bluepill before-hand). Like most of the fellas have said on here already, I don't like the ultra right-wing comments from stormfront/kkk fools on there (i hate feminists but i lean more towards the left, is that possible?!). I think RVF is more hands-on and personal since it's moderated a helluva lot more than RoK and good place to learn game and lifestyle advice.

Nowdays you gotta be careful when reading ROK when you still want to be a playboy who wants to play this game, even with the quality of women going down!! The negativity will affect you if your inner game is not strong enough to handle it.

I went through a 4 months I hate women period after a tough gaming stretch... without even realizing it. I believe ROK is still a fantastic learning site, but just like beating the nerve when it's time to approach, you gotta consciously not let the negativity on there affect you, while still getting beneficial learning if you want to game.
