Women push back against the "fat acceptance" movement

This article didn't make jezebel or xojane, obviously, but it is written by a woman and is critical of the "fat acceptance" movement:

http://thoughtcatalog.com/carolyn-hall/2...-movement/

Summary of the article:
  • America is extremely accepting of fat
  • "Body positivity" should include health
  • "Health at every size" seems physically impossible
  • People are allowed to not be attracted to certain body types
  • Food addiction is a real medical problem
  • Childhood obesity is something we can't be accepting of

That last point, regarding childhood obesity, is a big one. What kind of life will those kids have when they weigh 250 lbs by 10 years old?

I think I'd be happy if America could at least gets its act together to be called just fat instead of morbidly obese.

I think at the heart of all this is a great insecurity.

Our country is in a coma.

Women push back against the "fat acceptance" movement

The thing that annoys me is the kind of rationalization fat women have done in response to this article. Here are two rationalization pieces done by fat cows:

What fat acceptance doesn't do, by and large, is make people thinner.

Well, well, well, I'm glad to see even a fat hamster admits that this "fat acceptance" movement isn't about making people healthier and better people. It's about rationalizing and justifying unhealthy behavior. I have not met one fat person who could not engage in better, more healthy eating habits.

"enormous portions", "levels of convenience", and "low priority on physical activity" cause people to be fat

This fat hamster tries to explain away this statement, but, yes, that's usually the reason people are fat.

No, it isn't. I'm sick of people with no willpower trying to absolve themselves of blame and guilt by saying they're addicted and implying they really can't help it.

I've been addicted to various things in my life and broke the addictions myself. It wasn't easy, but most things worth doing aren't easy.

These fat pussies disgust me.

My mother is from a really poor country. She grew with basically nothing. She made a huge deal about making sure I always ate to the point of being full. I get it. Food is scarce. Eat when you can. It got annoying after a while. I think that's where childhood obesity comes from.

Fucking thank you. Yes.

You aren't a sex/videogame/food/etc addict.
You just have no self control.

Pick up an opiate habit. Spend a long time on stimulants. Hell, drink heavy daily for awhile.
Once you've gone through withdrawals... you'll never call food an addiction.

Fuck that.

Physical dependence is addiction.
Not your weak self control saying "I enjoy this socially frowned upon activity more than I enjoy not doing it. I must be addicted. Pity me."

Food addiction is a medical problem?

Would be cool to see how many medical food addicts you'd find in Sudan.

I'm glad to see women not jumping aboard fat acceptance. Although I'm always outward with my dislike of overweight people when questioned, most chicks I know accept and strengthen fat stereotypes and the gender obesity double standard.

Also yes, addiction just like racist/ism is just another American buzzword.

I am a “normal” size, but fluctuate between about a 6 and a 10. I eat well enough, work out two or so days a week and try to walk as much as possible.

I used to workout "two or so" days a week in college. Guess what, I never improved. I never had the motivation to run that extra mile or do that extra rep. Fat Acceptance people will just look at this lady as though she has good genes. Probably not the best person to right the article in my opinion. The absolute best would be someone who was fat, but then shed the weight by just working hard at the gym and eating right.

Only in public but behind closed doors they laud at the fatsos for eliminating themselves from the competition for alphas/attention.

The beautiful women want the rest of females to be fat. Of course they encourage their fat ways and call them beautiful. Less competition. Kingsley Davis was spot on.
