Cigarette Taste

So for all the smokers out there: Do you feel the taste of cigarettes has becomes really bad in the last few years. Most cigarettes that I purchase taste like shit. Just has a chemical taste to it. And I smoke less than 1 or 2 cigarettes per week !

The only cigarette brand whose taste has a good tobacco flavor is Davidoff and its hard to find them in the States. In Asia for some reason cigarettes taste nice and doesn't give you a very chemical taste. It leaves you with a nice aroma. Some say its the FSE material that cigarette companies add to the cigarettes for self extinguishing which has made the taste go downhill. Does anybody else have a similar experience? Any particular brand switch that you can recommend?

Buy a pouch of tobacco and roll your own. Cheaper and the tobacco is generally better

Try an Acid Cigar, their infused line of cigars are some of the best you will find in the market. It's always pleasure to take part of the day and just finish one while having some sangria. You won't regret it.

the hippies I know smoke native american spirit cigarettes. They are supposed to be organic etc. Cigarettes are the lowest form of tobacco in my opinion so I think they all taste bad. I recommend cigars, tobbacco pipe, or if you need something smaller/cigarette sized, cigarillos

I noticed a difference when the Fire Safe bullshit came in, so yes, I would say that is behind it.

I don't smoke anymore but I know what you mean. The best cigarettes I've tried are made for the European and Japanese market generally, with the Swiss and Japanese made ones being the smoothest and least chemical tasting.

If you smoke enough, it would probably be worth it to order cartons online.

Russian parliaments are the best here. I only smoke the "Carat" ones as they're made in Switzerland. Smooth and no chemical taste, although not strong enough for most. They're slightly skinnier so I think they're classier and women also don't mind them so there's that advantage.

Once in a while I'll splurge on some Nat Sherman's.
Pricey, but worth it.

Rolling is the best, you get 40 or 50 grams for little money, and a huge choice of blends.

I have never done this but I assume its like making your own anything, its usually better. Plus I think there's an extra bit of class pulling your own, clean looking (not some hobo joint) cigarette out of a cigarette case. Conversation starter.

OP what's your favorite brand of cigarette?

I'm all over the place with Tobacco, but usually I spring for camel silvers or golds. Occasionally I will enjoy a Marlboro Red.

^^ Silvers were probably the smoothest squares I've ever had, they were almost too smooth, although enjoyable.

Personally, I don't think cigarettes are really meant for the taste, especially now in the U.S where the majority of them have been chemically processed for safety reasons. I'd suggest buying more sensuous cigarettes online.

But I find that taste is still relevant, I usually alternate between Marlboro Southern cuts (for their spicey taste) and Blend no. 27s. I used to smoke American spirits but stopped because they just don't offer a worthwhile buzz for their price.

See, smoking for me is all taste. Off all the vices in my life, quitting cigarettes was by far the easiest. I don't crave a nicotine head rush, I end up craving the taste of tobacco.

Since all of them have little to no taste, it's lame.

I should go to this tobacco shop across the street from my office. Wouldn't they have some international cigarettes that don't have the same BS as domestic?

I'm curious what vaporized tobacco tastes like...

I don't smoke.

But when I used to drink a lot at uni - I used to smoke one or two cigarettes really hard and fast. Sometimes I would get through a pack really fast as well.

Anyway - for a non smoker - the nicotine rush from cigarettes is really lovely. You feel all light headed and incredibly happy. As if this moment right now is the best moment of your life.

Just wondering if others who smoked like that found the same thing? I remember one time dragging on a cigarette so hard that my legs gave way. Although I was pretty drunk as well...

The day after smoking used to brutal. The taste of cigarettes in your system - the next day, to a non-smoker is awful. You regular smokers have no idea how much cigarettes stink.

I used to have to go for a run to try and purge the shit from my lungs - and get rid of the taste from my mouth.

Definitely made hangovers much worse.

I give you credit for not getting addicted to the buzz, it's inevitable for a guy with an addictive personality like me.

All tobacco shops carry international brands of cigarettes, but I'm guessing most of them in American stores undergo U.S. safety sanctions. Those sanctions probably wouldn't apply in an online market. Of course this is just an educated guess because I haven't done any research.

Never had vaporized tobacco, but I've probably been the only person in modern history to have used a bong for "tobacco purposes only". And holy shit that gives you a head rush [Image: thumb.gif]

What are your guys' thoughts/experiences on electronic cigarettes? Better taste?

frenchie: I love the taste of Davidoff and Dunhill & Lucky Strike. And all of them are hard to find in the US. In Asia I used to smoke Benson & Hedges. Its a British brand and has amazing aroma. I'd hardly take 2-3 drags of it but still enjoy the smell of the smoke on my fingers.

Most places where I go and ask for them they give me a look like I'm asking for aladdin's magic lamp. Its strange since in Asia, all these cigarettes were available even in little street side shops. My girlfriend went to Italy last summer and got me a pack of Lucky Strikes and boy do they taste smooth. In US the only Lucky Strikes you can get are the non filtered ones.

I read that FSE(the fire extinguisher thing that few people mentioned here) is also mandatory in EU and UK. Is that the experience of people who have smoked in Europe?

I'm not really an avid smoker. Just like it with beer or whisky once in a while. If I'm out clubbing. Maybe I'll try rolling my own tobacco like some members have suggested. Is there a website where you can buy foreign made cigarettes in bulk?

Before picking up smoking i went out with this chick that smoked a fair amount, and her mouth tasted like the stinky rag they clean the counters with in those roadside dinners.

Latter i adopted the "Smoke=No kissing" policy.

Definitely this.

As I understand it, the chemical that makes cigarettes "fire safe" is a carpet-backing glue.
