The ring's purpose is strictly style/fashion. What's the proper finger to wear it on? I'm guessing either thumb, index, or ring finger. The style of clothing it will be worn with is basically stuff from Express (i.e. proper jeans/pants, fitted button downs, possibly skinny tie, blazer/sport jacket). No douchebag clothes.

Express used to sell ONLY douchebag clothes. Apparently that's changed (or we have different definitions).

Where you wear your ring depends on what kind of ring it is. If it's gold (especially with a gem in it), I would avoid the inner two fingers. No use shooting yourself in the balls by seeming married. Wear those on the pinky (if you want to look guido) or the index, for a refreshing spin. If it's a silvery, gothic-looking number, you can wear that in the inner fangers.

That's my take. I used to rock a lot of rings back in my douchebag days.
