Nocturia, getting up in the night 3-6 times to pee

For the past few months I've been getting up in the night between 3-6 times to use the bathroom. Used to sleep so well through the night but now I'm constantly fatigued. I went to the doctor and my blood sugar was normal (not diabetes) and my urine sample was ok. I've been super dehyrdrated and going to the bathroom a lot during the day too but I have no idea what it is.

It's driving me crazy and wondering if any forum members had a similar experience.

I actually have this as well -- it can be anywhere to 4-10 times a night I have to get up & urinate.. I try to cease drinking when the sun goes down to try to alleviate the frequency, that helps a little I've found..

What's your body type? I'm a classic ectomorph, I'm wondering if that has something to do with it because of the fast metabolism..

How old are you? this is usually a prostate related problem.

I'm only 23, and before this used to sleep like a baby all night. I'm an endomorph but I don't think its correlated. I have regular sex with ease but haven't had consistent morning wood in a while either. I'm getting a blood test tomorrow to dig a little bit deeper.

You shouldn't be having this problem at your age - it's not normal. Yeah you need a real work-up from you doc. Are you always thirsty?

Yeah, I had a similar problem to the OP once after I started rawdogging my then-girlfriend - I had to get up several times at night to pee, and my back ached too. My urine disptick test was fine but I decided to put myself on antibiotics anyway. I was much better after a course of antibiotics. Problem didn't recur after that.

Urine tests for infection often come back negative in the presence of mild infection; the best sample to test is the first sample when you wake up in the morning, at this time the bacterial load is highest.

Mild infections are sometimes treatable just with baking soda - you can drink a teaspoonful in water 3 times a day for 5 days, if you don't want to try antibiotics.

But yeah, if antibiotics don't clear it up, the OP probably needs to see a kidney specialist or internist to see if he doesn't have glomerulonephrosis or similar.

What are you drinking throughout the day?

If you drink a lot of sugary drinks, stop them cold turkey and see if there is any change.

Likewise, if you drink a lot of caffeinated drinks, try doing the same.

If you have a high protein intake, that could make you pee a lot as well.
