Just do it. You don't lose anything by talking.
If nothing at all, you'll get enough skills to talk to chicks your own age.

Girls won't be freaked out by you going up to talk to them. That is a great way to get to know alot of people and the more people you know the better. Knowing more people will allow you to go to alot of parties and meeting other girls from other schools and things like that. Just be outgoing, nice and try to meet as many people as you can.
