I've done it.
Story - I used to have a high profile job that made me come off as a BSD so I had recruiters sucking my kneecaps all the time. So one day I was reviewing all my contacts (500+) and there was one chic who seemed cute (solid 6) but I had no idea who she was as her profile stated she was in med school. Actual correspondence pasted below from linkedin -

Hi John,
I was doing recruiting for a while before med school, so I may have asked you be friends for a job I was working on?? That's all I can think of.

ha, no worries. Live in [current city]? Maybe we should get a drink on your study breaks

ha... I do. Although, I might need a little more information on you before committing. My study breaks are very precious.

of course. well, you already know my work and educational background so no need to go there. So I am single, never married, no kids, originally from [beautiful state], have my own place in [xyz neighborhood], enjoy all the typical city activities (checking out new restaurants, [body of water], [local team], charity events, etc). How about you?

Hi John,
Hmmm... where to begin... I worked in finance for a few years after college and decided to go back to school to get my pre-req science classes. I just finished my 1st year of med school in May and am enjoying the summer off... that counts as a study break, right?

I am living in [awful suburb] right now. I reluctantly moved in Aug to be closer to school. It's about a 20 minute drive into the city without traffic, so I still am in [city] pretty often to go out with friends. I will get to move back into the city for 3rd and 4th year, and probably residency, so I am making the most of it for the time being. I moved from [cool neighborhood], and before that, I was in [ ok neighborhood] for 4 years. I really enjoyed both neighborhoods. Free time is spent going out to dinner/drinks, reading, running, cooking, doing yoga, and taking my dog for walks... I have a golden retriever.
Hope you're enjoying the weekend.

So what med school are you at? Enjoying the burbs? Haha
Want to grab a drink this week? Seems like you have a lot of time on your hands

Hi John,
I am spending the weekend in [college town] with my sister. Nothing too eventful... just grilling out shortly and going to see the fireworks. I will be in the city this weekend. I have plans Sat, but could do Friday... maybe a later happy hour? Let me know if that works.
