I'm sure some of you guys on here have dogs. I have 2 dogs a 100 pound Olde English Bulldogge and a little Chihuaha Dachsund or Minpin mix.

Dog beds are pretty expensive, even for a small crappy one like $15, for one for a big dog like $30. I wind up having to buy new ones every other month or so cuz they bleed or slobber or chew bones on them and they all seem to be made of faux fur type material that's impossible to clean.

I was shopping for dog beds yesterday and the only stuff on amazon and stores was expensive crappy beds.

Found a good solution, went to Goodwill or you could go to really any thrift shop for that matter. I paid $12 for a couch in pretty good shape. I had origionally considered just tossing the coush and using the cusions but figured I bought a full couch why not let the dogs have it.

So rather than paying $30 for some 15" x 15" crappy dog bed that's gonna get tossed in a month only paid $12 and have a couch for them for probably the next year at least before I have to toss it.

Wish I had thought of this sooner so if any of you have dogs not a bad idea. Tried posting a pic but file too big maybe I'll throw one up later.

I buy Chaise's off criagslist for my Lab and put them next to the window he likes to look out. Your right about those beds..they suck and cost way too much

Out of curiosity... Was the English Bulldog and Chihuaha your choice?
Or did they get dumped on you from an ex girlfriend or sister or something?

Is there any risk that they will then invite themselves to any couch in the house if they think couch=bed?

lol your a very wise man. yeah the olde english bulldogge was my pic the chihuaha was my girlfriends but basically turned into my dog lol. she is super allergic to dogs if she were to roll around on the floor playing with my dog her whole body would break out in tiger stripes. when we started dating she hid her allergies for a while and then at some point brougt up me getting rid of my dog. that wasn't happening he was there first and made that known so we kinda wound up compromising and kept some dog free areas and got a better vacuum.

i wanted to get another dog for a companion for my dog and make him be a bit more active as he's getting older. i probably would have gone for a rott or a pitbull but its also harder to get friends and family to watch a big dog so we went to a rescue together and wound up comming home iwth this guy. he grew on me, i love him now. he's actually pretty cool i taught him to find pot so if i ever lose my bag he can track it down for me lol.

My bulldog isn't the typical old english bulldog, it's called an olde english bulldogge so 60% bulldog with the rest a combo of pitbull, american bulldog, and mastiff. supposedly trying to recreate the origional old english athletic fighting bulldog and not the cute but fat and unhealthy bulldogs we know today.

for a while i was living in my rental house between tenants and in kinda a skethcy area lots of breakins and stuff so liked having him around.

Yeah, that's the one bad thing, if your gonna do this probably better to do it with an older well trained dog so they know one couch is their couch and not every dog in the house.

I was traveling for a while and left my bulldog with my parents and they let him have the run of the house and do whatever he wanted to he's kind of spoiled. My dad worked at home for years so he would go out and get portillos for lunch and the dog would get his own meal lol. Wound up making my dog like 20 pounds overweight.

My parents however recently moved down south so to help them out I'm renting out my place and renting/staying at theirs for two years so it's their house and furniture. He always had the run of the house so I've kinda let him keep the run of the house minus upstairs.

I'll be the first to admit I don't have the most well trained dogs as you can see in the one pic both dogs laying on the couch they're not supposed to be on lol.

Even if you didn't wanna give the dogs a couch though, $12 or $14 for a couch and you got 2-3 really large cusions way better than any dog beds on the market for a fraction of the cost. If your worried about your dogs picking up bad habits you could always just use the cusions and not the couch.

I knew it! There are some dogs that are simply, just not, a mans best friend. A gay little chihuaha handbag dog is one of them!
Also, I was thinking of French bulldogs, which are also gay.
