I've been to Medellin 5 times now, and soon it will be 6.
The toughest nut to crack in this town isn't the girls or the language; the toughest is finding a RENTAL. It seems i'm getting stonewalled from other gringos who have lived there for a long time. Either that or the locals give me USD $1,500/mo pricing.
I heard that the most cost effective rentals are in sabaneta and laureles. What do you guys think? I'm looking for a luxury studio or 1 bedroom to rent year around. Something obviously gated, with 24 hr security that is relatively close to nightlife and shopping.
Is there anyone on this board that has any REAL recommendations? SEriously, i've pounded the pavement on my own but it seems like other gringos are mad jealous of what they perceive as the incoming competition.
