X Files spin-off predicts 9/11

I KNOW THIS IS 'OLD NEWS' BUT I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ROUND TO WATCHING THE CLIP UNTIL NOW!

You all know this.

But as a quick recap. Back in March, 2001 - the spin-off show from 'The X Files' called 'The Lone Gunmen' aired its pilot episode.

The plot was that the US government would hijack a passenger plane, fly it into the Twin Towers and then blame it on a foreign dictator as a way of propping up the arms industry.

It is a famous clip. But I hadn't gotten round to watching it until the other day. And a few other people I know - who knew of the clip - hadn't actually seen it as well.

So - for those who have yet to see the clip - it is well worth watching.

I am not a 9/11 'truther' myself - but there is something a little chilling watching the clip and knowing it was broadcast 6 months before 9/11.

I saw a special on PBS about terrorism in the late 1990s that did a dramatization of a terrorist driving an airplane into WTC.

This tactic and plan was well known before it happened.

I also saw a PBS special warning about the mortgage crisis before it happened.

It's been claimed that the CIA worked with the makers of the X-Files and possibly suggested or massaged story lines. The idea being that once something had been presented in mainstream entertainment as pure "woo-woo" fantasy, people are inoculated against believing that something similar could actually be real. Mix in a real conspiracy among all the aliens, and people put them all in the same category.

Quite a plausible disinformation strategy if you ask me - clearly the assassination of JFK has nothing to do with aliens or bigfoot, yet some people have been conditioned to dismissively lump them together.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

If this were true, the film X-Files: I Want to Believe wouldn't have sucked so hard as to ruin a brilliant franchise. Unless it was like the Joker heist where he kills off his own crew.
