It depends on the person, but it's a feedback loop. A lot of women make themselves fat and ugly to avoid intimacy, and some women are just fat and/or ugly, so they find groups to give them validation without having to do any real work on themselves. I've known quite a few women who were hot, and were sick of getting hit on, so they cut all their hair off, and voila! guys stopped hitting on them for the most part. Of course, they'd still have their beta orbiters that make them feel validated and empowered, but that doesn't require them to DO or INVEST anything. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Any girl who is average looking (average in not being overweight/obese, healthy, no birth defects, etc) can land with a man who is either average or above average in looks if they put in the work. It's the same with men. It's why you see so many Russian girls who go the extra mile in trying to look good and impress men. They're actively looking for a good man to catch and to be with since the supply of that is very low.
