^ man I gotta stop reading this thread you just name dropped a few companies I know far too well and read too much about.

There are a few private ones I am trying to invest in before the bridge loan process but I got no chance I don't think, not with my amount of $ [Image: sad.gif]

But yeah tech investing at this stage = investing for geniuses basically (or wealthy people). I wouldn't invest in them as an average dude and have stated a billion times to just dollar cost into spy (note guys the market is already back to flat on the year Whattup! Hope you guys kept buying).

What does FB have going on behind closed doors that somehow gives it a completely different metric when determining the company's value?

Sounds like its the number of users and the richness & freshness of personal data they have on each user. This is the gold mine for advertisers.

They are also getting 25 million new users per month.

WC-Explain this "secured" third party app a bit more.

They sell their ad space to someone.

^ fuck that man how about this one.

On shitty international garbage phones they processed 27 BILLION messages in a day. That is some gangster tech mane.

Hotwheels it's basically the difference on competing for the ad on the phone right? So instead they go for the jugular on Branders who only care about "per acquisition" then they use their data off the third party apps they have leaked into or have secured then advertise to them. Google can't do that because they don't have access to it. Make sense?

I see where you're coming from because if you're running a small to medium biz you can use google to get quality leads and grow your name/biz etx which is great. FB again is the front end sale.

That's crazy and they only have 55 employees or something like that. I imagine the stick rate is huge. You having all your friends and family on WhatsApp would make you much more loyal to that app. These are the types of apps I love and shoot to make myself. An app that would cause some pain if you were to stop using it.

^ yeah that dirty immigrant made a few billion in the USA [Image: wink.gif] (I know I know layup though)

Yeah people don't understand how penetrated that company is, really astounding from a tech view.

It is almost a reverse biz model, penetration of international now finally getting domestic traction. Usually the pitch is domestic penetration followed by international growth.

The whole transaction and the tech behind is mind boggling out of the gate.

Ok so let me see if I have this straight, since some of it seemed abstract to me.

Let's say I want to buy some new basketball shoes.

Old way: I go to basketball fan sites, and shoe websites. Those sites have Google cookies on them, so Google knows I want to buy shoes. Now, when I view ads on various sites that have AdSense, I see ads for shoes.

New way: WhatsApp can analyze what I'm texting to my friends, and see 1) where I am physically 2) that I'm writing about buying new shoes. Then, it can pass this data to FB's ad network and/or show ads in-app, knowing that I want to buy shoes, and probably recommend a shoe store down the street from me, that has Nikes on sale.

Am I understanding correctly?

Whatsapp is probably what makes 9/10 of my pipelining bangs possible. Without it my ball sack when traveling would be much heavier.

The thing is, how often do you text your friends about what you are thinking of buying? For me the answer is never.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

"Nothing. Probably gonna go workout and then chill and watch tv."

When the news broke, I was surprised to find out that Whatsapp was a US-based company.

I don't know any fellow 'Murcans that use it.

Actually Facebook is crushing it.

They just announced their 2nd quarter results where they added another 40 million users and amazing bottom line growth, which grew a whopping 138% year over year.

Their stock price will hit an all time high tomorrow.
