London Gaming Spots

For all you London players,

I am moving to London very soon and need the lowdown. I have had a search on the forum but there doesn't seem to be a massive amount on favourite day game/night game spots. I know the city fairly well but there's much to be learnt still.

Where are your favourite spots to daygame, aside from the obvious Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street, Trafalgar Square etc?

Night game? I am not into pretentious clubs like Buddha, China White etc.

Hit me with it!

Gracias.

Search clubs and the look for something that takes your fancy. Seems like a touristy thing to do but it really works. London can be hard work so I like to just find a good night where I think there will be a lot of talent. You will have a handful of options.

London can be a pain in the ass because of its size -- logistics are usually a nightmare, especially since the tube closes at 12. I think the best parts of town to go out in are Camden and Shoreditch, because the people that go out in those neighborhoods tend to live in them. Upscale places are a waste of time, IMO. Pubs can be good for pre-drinking and meeting people.

I used to go to Punk on Wednesdays. Potion Bar was another favorite of mine. Both near Euston.

For day game try Broadway markets on a Saturday. Usually quite a few hipster chicks around if your into them - especially if its a nice day when people go and sit by the canal or in London Fields.

For night spots it can be very hit and miss - AKA a place can be great one night and dam awful the next. Definetly Shoreditch is the place to go though as the sheer number of venues all close together means you can bounce around. Some ones where I've had good nights before are Favela Chic, Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen, Cargo, Basing House, 93 Feat East.

Where will you be based? To be honest, the gaming opportunities in London are endless. It is a city with a drinking culture, so it's not difficult to find a lively spot to have a drink any day of the week. Add to that the constant influx of tourists, and you are spoilt for choice.

Broadway market is hipster central. Endless flow of chicks on a Saturday. Sit outside all day drinking at a pub called the Cat and Mutton. More of a summer time venue but will be good for the next month or so.
