How do you bust through lack of motivation

No cause I can think of accept that it's winter, but I am completely unmotivated to do anything productive. And it's been about 3 weeks now. How can I snap out of this?

Can you be more specific as to what it is exactly you're trying to succeed?

I believe that to achieve something you have to really want it; you can't perceive of your future without it. If you just do something because it sounds cool or it sounds like something you should do, then you likely won't achieve it.

Whether it be work, exercise or dating you have to want it, badly! Spend some time meditating on the subject and write out your goals. If you really want something you'll get it.

Try waking up earlier so you catch the sun for the winter months. Vitamin D supplements, caffeine, and gingko can help with mood and focus. Make you sure you're getting enough exercise. If you're sitting about all day, you're not getting blood circulation to stimulate action.

If it's more of a mental thing, write down what you want to do. More money? Travel? Writing? Have a plan where you can track your progress so you see exactly what you're doing.

For example I have a shelf near my desk where all unread books are. It helps when you can physically see right in front of you what has to be done.

This is all prep work, and ultimately, as cliche as it sounds, you just have to do it. Shock yourself, jump in.

Bright light therapy.

Many people suffer to varying extents from "winter blues" brought on by insufficient amounts of light exposure. General sluggishness and lack of motivation is one of the main symptoms.

Buy a light box (I recommend this one), and use it for 30 minutes at 10,000 lux at 14'' distance every morning around the same time soon after you wake up. You will notice a significant improvement in your overall mood, level of motivation and sleep quality within a couple of days.

Do not try to bust out of it by abusing stimulants like caffeine or speed analogs. They will give you a short-term jolt but leave you ultimately more tired and worn out. In fact, if you are consuming too much caffeine right now, cut it down to no more than one cup a day taken on a full stomach in the first half of the day.

Good call on the bright light therapy, Lizard of Oz. I'll have to try that.

And too true about caffeine. I think a cup of coffee/black tea in the morning will be fine, but I can't fathom people drinking more cups past 2 and expecting to get a good night's rest. I've switched to green tea lately and have noticed a pleasant buzz with calm clarity.

Systemize your life, there's no motivation when it comes to doing what you by habit. I have a strong morning routine, then I have a system for working towards my goals.

How do you bust through lack of motivation

I was very unwell at a point of time in my life. It was at that time I realized the importance of what you can take for granted in life. During that time, all I wanted was to bust my ass working hard and I could not. It was really frustrating because I never thought I would get out of my situation. I started envying people who could work hard. That's how ridiculous t got.

When I eventually did get my health back, the issue of "finding motivation" just disappeared entirely. I was almost working the whole day and absolutely loved it.

Bottomline: You don't need motivation. You're maybe doing something you don't love or at least like. Once you've sorted that out, and you're in great health, you'll almost be on auto-pilot.

Get 30 days of discipline off boldanddetermined and follow what it says. You'll have a great morning routine and be ready to fuck the day into submission.

How do you bust through lack of motivation

I'm unmotivated when I don't have some type of work, activity or project that excites me and makes me want to jump out of bed and get shit done.

I find going to the gym before 9am really helps with this.

Sell your TV.
What do you gain by watching 3+ hours of TV a night? Nothing.
Having an extra couple of hours of free time every day has endless advantages.
If you are really desperate to see something, you can always download or stream it online.

Go to bed earlier, wake up earlier and go to the gym.
If it is too hard to get the energy to work out in the morning, then take some pre-workout powder.
I do this every day. You will feel better for working out, plus you will sleep better because you will be fucking tired every night!

What I discovered is
The difference between the gazelle and the lion.

One of them is running from something.
And one of them is running to something.

I'mma say it again.

One of them is running from something.
One of them is running to something.

So why is this significant?

Because when you're a gazelle
And a lion ain't chasing you no more,
You're not doing what?

You're not running.

But when you're a lion,
You're always running!

And so the problem with some of you in this room
Is you're so fixed on that car,
You need that external thing to pump you up.

And this is the danger.

What happens when you want a Bentley
And you finally get it?

What happens when you are working every single day!
You're putting in hours and hours!
And you want that house in the gated community!

And five years from now,
You get that house in the gated!
You got the key!
You open it up!
You walk in!
You furnished it!
You got it!

What happens?
You stop running.

But when you're a lion,
You're always hungry.

Be a lion.

Make a playlist. Pick 5, 6, 7 tracks that speak to certain moments of your life.

One could be something that evokes memories of your teenage years.

One could be something that correlates with some adversity that you have overcome.

One could be something that just makes you feel powerful, something that really resonates.

Use this for a moment of clarity.

Look to appreciate the little things in life, look at all the great things we men have created, test yourself by taking on a new pursuit, hobby or challenge.

Dig deep down into your conscience and look at what you really want out of life. Get a goal. Get a fucking plan.

'The only way to get better is to wage war against yourself'

These look to tackle the problem in terms of crafting the mindset that you desire. Develop that unbreakable toughness that you can rely on when you feel like do now. When you hit the 'wall' and when the motivation drops you can go to this mindset and push through.

You have to understand that you can't constantly ascend and that there will be times, times such as this where your drive wanes.

Do the right things consistently over time and you will rediscover that drive.

On a more factual, scientific base you could look at your T levels. There is nothing like the raw power and feeling of invincibility that comes with surging test levels and strong healthy body. Hit the gym or take up a sport or physical challenging pursuit. Your mind will grow stronger for it.

Good luck. We all fight this battle.

Good music usually helps me when I feel absolutely uninspired.

Currently it's Bon Jovi (hate all you want, it's good shit for getting up and getting things accomplished), Eric Clapton, HELLYEAH, and Pearl Jam. You have to find what works for you and leverage it in order to get your own inspiration.

Normally I take a fat cup of coffee to a city library and read a biography of someone I find fascinating.

All we see in the media and online is the 'end product' of success, so reading the full story allows me to mentally accept the required effort of day to day challenges.

In the end, you get your shot at greatness, and it'€™s up to you to take it or not. You have to rebel against your circumstances, laziness, and mediocrity. The best will make it, and that notion is genetically embedded within our fabric...The human spirit encourages us to excel
