So back to Korea... one thing that you're going to have to learn to do is appreciate the Asian aesthetic. As noted before, there is a different standard of beauty than the West. Once you embrace it Korea will become your playground. Learn some conversational Korean, make some genuine Korean friends (they legitimize you in the eyes of xenophobic K-girls), and approach everything that smiles at you.

Of course you should always go for the bang as soon as possible but just racking up phone numbers and playing the texting game is going to get you tons of play. Sounds like,in S. Korea, you made the best of a difficult situation, which is what a traveler often has to do. Though with so many countries and women available, I'm not so sure the "stick it out" and adapt kind of advice is the best. With experience, after about a month, its pretty easy to tell if a place is worth it for the long haul. For example, I've been in Ecuador for a while now for business reasons and have adapted just like you did in S. Korea. However, whenever i get the opportunity i head back to Colombia or Brazil. Life is too short for making a good thing out of someting mediocre.

I think in hindsight, it was a difficult place to live. There are definitely easier and more desirable places to live in Asia. That's part of why I'm in Thailand now. This place is just rather easy to live in.

I drank way too much while I was in Korea--like to the point where I wore myself down and ended up getting sick with tonsilitis. It's part of their culture to drink all the time and rather hard to avoid if you want to have a social life.

The thing about Korea is that many people develop the "stick it out" attitude because of the way teaching contracts are set up. If you stay until the end, you walk away with a nice severance bonus and get a paid flight home. If you break the contract you lose that and probably the housing deposit that your school took out of your first paycheck. That's about $3500 right there, up and gone, plus whatever it's going to take to fly you off of the peninsula.

There were a lot of bad things about Korea but also a lot of good. I saved about $20k in my 15 months there
(I'm an extreme case), fucked lots of girls, and took an awesome trip through East Asia afterward.

Will I go back? No. There are just too many other places that I can go now that are more desirable. I still admire a hot Korean girl though and think they can be extremely sexy.

What kind of business things are you doing in Ecuador? I've been to Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil, amongst others, and would agree that Ecuador is less appealing. Insane natural beauty but things like the cuisine, women, and crime are major drawbacks.

Have you thought about Mexico? I'm a huge advocate of the middle-class Mexicanas. Las Fresas. They can match Colombianas IMO. Plus the food in Mexico is awesome

In certain countries going for one night stands in clubs or bars is counterproductive and a waste of time. Ecuador and Korea seem similar in that sense. That is why internet game is not a bad idea also. The trick is "isolating" and NEVER allowing her friends to influence her interaction with you . Any girl who accepts a solo date with a foreigner in these countries is already half way to your apartment.

Depends on what your race is. My mother is Ecuadorean so Im Latin. "Fresas" in Mexico are generally looking for white guys and are not DTF as much as Colombianas. If youre a latin or black guy better to stick with Colombia. If you're white it would depend on your spanish ability.

I got a few ONS' at Foxy in Seomyeon. Elune in Haeundae was pretty good for getting numbers and setting up dates. I think Thursday Parties are always good because the Korean crowd tends to be less xenophobic and chances are the girls speak some English.

I'd hit up Ghetto once in a while with a couple of my black friends but never had much success there-- too loud and crowded. Rather hard to isolate.

I had the most success in Seomyeon. Not just at Foxy but at samgyeopsal joints too. That's where the conversational Korean comes in handy. You can squeeze your way into the large dinner parties and become the center of attention. If you can handle your soju you can get a lot of respect too. It quickly makes you seem less threatening in the eyes of K-girls.

Another couple things I might add: It's easy in Busan or Seoul to get caught up in the large party groups of foreigners. Sometimes you'll see like 25 foreigners walking into a bar or just drinking on the street. That's not going to get you any play. I tried to stay away from those groups and just went out with, at most 3 to 4 buddies, but usually just one or two. Plus, I tended to not get along with a lot of the foreigners in Korea for a variety of reasons but mainly just their lack of respect for cultural norms and generally embarrassing behavior. If I felt like having an easy night and settling for a Western chick I knew where to find them.

Also, since you have to make almost all the moves on Korean girls I would caution against just going out by yourself. It's not like other places where solitary girls will just walk up to you if you're standing at the bar alone. Koreans generally don't go out by themselves. If you're alone, they're going to think there is something wrong with you. Social validation is key in Korea.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that. Mexicans are a lot more racist. There's not the whole cane sugar history like the northern parts of SA so Mexico is a lot less diverse. They generally look down on blacks. I'm blond-haired and blue-eyed so I do quite well with the Fresas.

Well, I'd say my favorite place is Puebla. I like the climate, food, architecture, history,and the fact that it's so close to some great hiking and wilderness opportunities thanks to the volcano, Popocatepetl. Puebla is one of those old seats of colonial money so there are plenty of hot Fresas walking around that are usually very friendly if you appear foreign and speak decent Spanish.

It should be noted that Puebla is one of the safer cities in Mexico. My girl told me it's because, in addition to the old money, a lot of the cartels send their kids there to study and so they try to keep the violence out of city. I don't know if her story has any merit but I just repeat it here as hear-say.

Other places I like are Guanajuato, Oaxaca City, Queretaro, and Guadalajara(the hotness of "Tapatias" has ready been discussed on this forum). Of course, DF is cool too if you like mega cities as I do. The women aren't as great in Oaxaca but everything else is.

If you speak decent Spanish I would recommend venturing out into the city of Cancun--as opposed to the hotel zone. Since Cancun is a new settlement there doesn't seem to be the kind of overarching emphasis on the traditional family unit that exists elsewhere in Mexico. Part of that can be attributed to the fact that Cancun is a "lifestyle" destination for a lot of young Mexicans. There are tons of single women from other parts of Mexico that go to Cancun to work in the tourist industry and end up making enough money to live in their own place and have disposable income. If you hit the few Mexican clubs in the center, well-dressed and not trying too hard you'll have a chance to game some of them. I picked up a fitness trainer that worked at one of the upscale resorts at one of those clubs (don't remember the name of the place though)

OP's thread is from 2011 too. Probably since the last year plastic surgery has become more common in South KOrea and fashion has improved too.

Also it's a hyperbole to say Latin American women are better. Except for some mixed race girls in Colombia and Brazil we're talking about a continent that mostly has Amerindian fatties (such as Mexico and Peru). I'ld rather take most East Asian women over pred. Amerindian women (because the latter are usually fat and dumb).

I did a lot of drinking and socializing in Gangnam where male tourists don't really go (they pretty much stick to Hongdae and Itaewon). This was especially true outside of July and August.

Literally saw scores of women past out drunk sleeping on the sidewalk a lot. Every place was rather packed.
