yes, but fully stuffed with a laptop in the side it would be a challenge. In a jam I take it to the seat with me but it makes for a cramped flight if over a few hours.

I usually wear my blazer on the plane, or put it up above with my coat if I am traveling with a coat. Its better than a blanket.. have been on some chilly flights this winter..

That Asus computer looks very sexy.

If you can deal with a smaller screen size and need portability (but not a slow ass piece of shit like a netbook) I would look into Lenovo's ThinkPad X series. The two I have are around 12 inches.

I have two X'es, one given to me for free with a worn-out backlight (dim at full brightness), but it's a solid little computer. Soon I'll switch out the screen with a new one:



Then there is the one designated as my primary workstation, an x230 Tablet I got on a "slick deal" last year for a little less than $500. Core i3 processor and 4 GB RAM:


This is something that has been around a long time, called a convertible tablet. You can use it normally with the keyboard and mouse, or flip the screen around and use the touch or pen input. With all the software add-ons installed, you have an onscreen keyboard and even swipe scrolling like a normal Android tablet. Plus in tablet mode it fits into this cool sleeve:


Mine is basically a portable desktop since it spends most of it's time in a dock. That's another thing to consider with X series, they have NO optical drive. It's located in the ultrabase:

You have all that other gangster stuff in there, don't get a weak first aid kit that won't do you any good for anything other than a paper cut.
-Neosporin to disinfect cuts
-Styptic pen (meant for shaving) to stop bleeding on minor cuts
-NuSkin to seal uninfected wounds and seal blisters. Don't seal wounds that are probably infected like dog bites. For something like that you will probably need medical treatment anyways.
-Gauze- 4x4, 5x9, and/or gauze roll. You can cut the 4x4s or 5x9s up for smaller cuts.
-Athletic tape or any medical tape to tape on gauze
-You can throw some bandaids in there too.

Put all that in a plastic baggie and throw it in your dopp kit. It will cover everything a tiny first aid kit does and way more.

If you ever have the opportunity to get some prescription wound sealant, grab it. I have some ointment that I got for my dog (not for human use) and the stuff is magic. I had a cut that was on a joint and would not heal. I put just a dab of that stuff on and in one day it was sealed over.

Great list. I'd also throw in a legit camera. Cell phones are great, but a basic DSLR and just the stock lens will get you better pictures and allow for more editing afterward, just get lightroom or something on your computer. Get a huge SD card and you don't have to worry about putting pictures on your computer. Spare battery wouldn't hurt either. That and the charger is about the size of a deck of cards.

They have hybrid cameras now.
couple years ago i bought a nikon p7000p7000
basically all the little gauges of a dslr..but no removable lense and much smaller..its bulky compared to a point and snap..but fits in a jacket pocket. battery lasted for like 2 weeks straight of daily use also.
