Cuba or Ecuador? Where to go for Study Abroad?

Cuba or Ecuador? Where to go for Study Abroad?

I like the back-and-forth on rating systems.

Those girls, for me, are in the 5 to 6 range, with girl in blue maybe a 6.5.

My rating system is this

5-A girl who is on the edge of bangability. Not ugly, but not truly "cute". You have a moderate desire to have sex with her

6-A girl who is solidly cute. Would definitely bang but she isn't anything to brag about

7-A very pretty girl. She's not hot, but she's well above most and may be borderline hot if she is a 7.5

8-A hot girl. This is the ranking I give to "standard hot" girls. They are actually very rare percentage wise. Most men never have sex with a girl of this quality.

9-Ridiculously hot. As good as it gets for you. These girls are extremely rare. I'm not sure how I would rank it but they must be in the category of 1 in 500 or even rarer.

I'm currently in Colombia and I've been traveling around a bit. I was in Manizales a few days ago ( a town up in the Andes) , and honestly I've never been to Ecuador but the feeling I got from Manizales is that it must be similar.

The girls have no ass. It's ridiculous. They have slightly more indigenous faces (kind of like most girls in Bogota) and have completely flat asses. The waist is almost flush with the hips. Even if a girl was skinny with a pretty face, there just isn't any butt. Coming from Medellin it was bizarre to see such a difference. I didn't see a single 8 in the town after walking around for many hours. 7s were a rare sight.

The decision between Ecuador and Cuba ( as far as women is concerned) comes down to what you prefer. Only go to Ecuador if you have a very strong preference (or fetish) for that type of woman. If you don't, then you won't be happy in the dating department. I've heard the accent there for Spanish is quite good and spanish lessons in ecuador are famously cheap (less than 10 bucks an hour standard rate).

All I know is that if you're looking to have a good experience Argentina has one of the best college cultures in Latin America (If not the best). However there's a chance you'll be able to mack on the upper class girls on the ecuatorian uni you're going, although I don't really know if your uni is gonna have those.

Can you elaborate on this argentinean college culture?

From my experience girls in Guyaquil were much cuter than Quito. I would say there are a lot of cuties in Guyaquil but the city is awful. Quito looked much nicer but in my three days there I saw only two cute girls.

My mom is from Zacatecas and my dad from Sinaloa in which I did two threads on, you should check them out if you haven't already. I go back to both places very often. I plan on living for at least a year in Mexico in the future. Pretty cool place to live in.

Nice I have only driven through Zac but have heard great things. Sinaloa gets a bad wrap from people who have never been. I love it. I am moving back down very soon. I love Mexico. It is a great plcae to live, the people are awesome, and you are totally free down there. Much more so than the States. Ill check out your threads man, also if you find yourself in Chiapas or Oxa, PM me and we will go drinking!

Cuba or Ecuador? Where to go for Study Abroad?

Thank you all for the great advice and for making this thread enjoyable to read by looking at all the different viewpoints and opinions. I decided to go ahead and apply for the Cuba trip in Havana for June. If anybody wants to meet up in Cuba during that time let me know. Thanks again!

When in June Midwest? I should be in Cuba June 20 or so until early August. You'll have a blast I'm sure and won't regret it. Cuba is a lot of fun and completely different than any other place you'll ever visit. Although I'm not sure whether I'll be based in Holguin or Havana during that time. I think you made the right choice. June is low season in Cuba as well which means there's usually less BS plus accomodations are cheaper.

As a word of advice DON'T leave money or valuables inside the classrooms at break. I was taken for a bit over $100...I thought it was safe to assume the class rooms were locked on break. Obviously they weren't.

The teachers will offer you private lessons if needed likely for 5 CUC per hour. This is how they are able to make a decent income beyond their state salary.

You are going to want to locate somewhere around 23. I'd be trying to find a place somewhere between 17 y 27 and between N and say E. This should allow you to get to the university by walking in under 15 minutes plus allow you to be close to the main shared taxi routes. Via 23 and L (more or less) taxi collectivos to just about anywhere you'd want to go are available. Vedado and Miramar operate on a grid system. So streets are labelled A, B, C and 1, 3, 5, 7 etc. After A it goes 0, 2, 4, 6. It will take a little bit to get the hang of it but it's much easier to navigate than Centro Habana where the streets are by name.

Centro Havana --> Miramar = 20 CUP or 1 CUC Vedado ---> Miramar = 10 CUP Vedado ---> Habana Vieja = 10 CUP as a rule of thumb.

Negotiate a casa for the month unless you plan on waiting until you find a girl to bang but it will slow you down as it's not as though at 3AM you can easily find a legal casa willing to let you in. Hookers will know places that will but normal chicks won't.

I'd avoid locating yourself in Havana Vieja or Centro. The buildings are pretty run down in those areas. I stayed in Vieja during my stay at the university and wouldn't recommend it despite being able to get to the university in 10 minutes or so via shared taxi. It's just dirty, and smells, especially when its hot like it will be in June!

In may I have to study for a licensing exam. But I'll see. I'm thinking about staying in Holguin in May as its easier for me to relax there and study as opposed to Havana where I can't stand being inside.

You'll have a great trip.
