Winter Vomiting Bug/norovirus

Any of you guys had this before?
I have just had 24 hours of intense stomach aches (the first 8 hours were agony). With no sleep. I didn't feel that nauseous - it was just the stomach pains that were fucking me up. So much I can't even read or watch TV.
And there doesn't seem to be anyway of making the pain go away.
Luckily the pain has gone away now - but it is the second time in 4 months I have had it.
I just dread having to go through it ever again. Women on the internet say it is more painful than giving birth.
Sorry for the moan. But it is pretty traumatic for me. And I want to get some feels from others who have been through it.

You summed it up man. It was worse than an inflamed gallbladder but not as bad as a kidney stone. Stay hydrated. We have had a few people around here wind up in the hospital with severe dehydration as a result of it.

We can't give you 100% correct medical advice, you have to see a doctor for that.
Here's some general info I can give:
You obviously want to get the bug out of your system. Your body is attempting this on it's own, which involves throwing up. Vomiting can make you very dehydrated, which will make you sicker. So like others already said, you need to stay hydrated! Drink lots of water and some light colored Gatorade (Lemon, etc.) or Pedialyte.
Norovirus is also a cause of diarrhea, so some diarrhea treatment advice can apply in your case too. You don't want the bug to stay in your system, so just let nature take it's course, try not to suppress it with medication. Go see the doctor if it doesn't improve or continues to come back.

By the way, frozen Pedialyte makes some great popsicles. Just tossing that out there. LOL

Norovirus is what people mistakenly called the stomach "flu" (flu is respiratory virus, influenza doesn't attack the stomach). For most people it means puking and diarrhea for a day or two, with maybe a fever, chills and headache. But it shouldn't be intensely painful. Might want to go to a doctor and an MRI or ultrasound, you might have a gall stone or something. No one here can tell you for sure.

Painful stomach cramps are part of the symptoms for the norovirus.

So I am pretty sure that is what it is - since my Mum had it 24 hours earlier than me.

I had it about a year ago. Lasted about 24 hours. Major projectile vomiting. Not as painful as food poisoning though. Very little actual pain, just couldn't keep anything down.
Ride it out another 12 hours, then see.
If it's really painful it might be food poisoning.
