I spend a fair amount of time in SF. Lot of different areas up here so what kind of person you are will greatly affect where you hangout. I do some work in the financial district so I do some drinking around there and then usually out in the marina.

Urbans right though definitely not a cheap city unless you want to sit on the curb with the hipsters down on Haight.

Lets get that chest worked up. Is it money issues? Where have you been scouting talent?

Do you ever hit live shows? There's usually sick performances going on but I'm not tapped into that scene. Are you more about the bar scene?

Actually, I like live shows festivals better. Clubs/bars, unless its a sports bar, are just too dark and loud for my tastes. There's never a break in the music, though I guess there shouldn't be, and they never switch to slow songs anymore!

I hear things either from word of mouth or from the newspaper. When are you going to get your website up and running? Also, if there's any chance of you breaking into the Berkeley scene, that would be wonderful! That in my opinion is an untapped market!

I agree, the Berkeley nightlife is definitely in need of some help. We will have the first version of the site up and running in two months or so, but we'll initially be focusing exclusively on SF nightlife. Once we gain some traction we'll branch into the East and South bay asap. We're going to really dig into these local markets to provide a solid variety of the best nightlife so that you don't have to waste your time trying to figure out who's where and whats hot.

That would be great! I would also be nice if there could be an honest, un-political correct assessment of the clientele of each establishment!

That was my though too. Such events are typically filled up with people who are very young (18-23) or in their fifties. If you are a good speaker and can spoke out some radical thoughts (somehow Marxism and Communism work very well on liberal young girls whose parents never experienced it in real life), you'll get a lot of attention from them. This is, if there are any girls [Image: smile.gif]

Those radical ideas work very well on youngsters. I remembered a few years ago in a Santa Cruz bar we met a 19yo chick who was all into Communism. Had to correct some of her ideas as we all studied Marxism in school in USSR, and it made her wet, she was all over me. Ended up fingering her in front of my wife, who laughed a lot looking on all that. The chick actually suggested that we go back to our place and have a threesome, but the thought of one hour ride back from SC on a Hwy 17 in the rain wasn't too appealing, so we just let it go.

It depends on what the weather is like on Sat. I planned to go skydiving to Hollister and then go to a pool/karaoke bar there and party with other skydivers, but the forecast is rain, which means skydiving is not an option. Which means I may attend the event instead.

So, will that event be an indoor activity? It sucks that its supposed to rain for the next 3 days! I think events and festivals like that are some of the best hunting grounds out there! Any estimates as to how many people are suppsoed to show?

Yes. Here's what I've got:

Location: Chevys 201 3rd Street (cross Howard), Montgomery BART station
Date: Saturday, December 18 at 6:30 PM
Menu: Fajitas Buffet including Sizzling Steak* and Chicken, veggies, enchiladas, Caesar salad, chips, fixins'
Price: $25 per person includes all you can eat, unlimited soft drinks, tax, tip, raffle ticket; $8 for children 12 and under. Cash bar for alcoholic drinks. You have to pay at the door - check or cash only please.
Set-up: This year we will have a mingle dinner. Sit some, stand some, talk to your fellow Solsticers. We will only have table/seats for about 50 - if you need to sit all evening - no worry we will have a seat for you..

Unfortunately I'm not gonna make it, the weather is shit and different plans popped up. If anyone goes, give me a favor and take pictures, I'd like to see what the event looks like.
